"Lovely"

10.0

People were lovely and very accommodating. Very easy access into the centre of town. A few nice places to eat. Even's Diner had nice happy hour cocktails and a good Eton Mess. I was nervous about my first solo stay in a city I'd never been to but everything was easy and understandable, the locals were all very lovely when I asked for directions or for reassurance I was on the right metro line.

"Aabba in Whitley Bay"

10.0

I would highly recommend Aabba Guest House. Very clean, well maintained and an excellent breakfast. Street parking is necessary. I was lucky as I found a space right outside so it was not an issue for me.

"Family room for overnight stay only."

8.0

Despite ringing doorbell on arrival, no answer, so rang tel no. of hotel and spoke to Hardy who apologised for not hearing bell. We then received a friendly and warm welcome and were shown up to our family room. It was very tiny, but slept up to four and was extremely clean and well presented, as was the en suite shower and toilet. We had arrived at 8pm and had been assured of on street parking for our car, which there was. It is a narrow road with terraced hotels intermittently up both sides of the road, but we were still able to park close to our hotel. We did not choose to book breakfast at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. I Would use this hotel again, but would suggest that there is always someone immediately available to greet arriving guests and also to acknowledge them when they depart at end of stay. The following morning, we were stood in the hallway waiting to return our room key, and after 10mins of knocking on various doors, left the key on top of the Guest Comments book on the hall table.
