Scenic Matavai Resort Niue

Staff were very helpful. The food was fantastic. Beautiful scenery. Definitely will be coming back.

The first room we stayed at had a funky smell to it that I had to request for air freshener. The second room we stayed at was way better.

All the staff were great and extremely helpful, and on a human level really nice to talk to and have fun with. Food was outstanding and the place was very clean throughout. Room facilities were spot on and the stay was very comfortable. After a week we didn’t want to leave the Resort or the island!

As with anywhere on the island, there’s a lot of wild chickens, and the cockerels love to wake you up to a song early in the morning. Admittingly we were in the apartments and I don’t think this was a problem in the main resort. The only other thing is really a complaint but an understanding, that the WiFi can struggle at times to load videos, which can be expected of any remote island I presume, but general web surfing and work is very manageable.

The location was stunning, seeing the dolphins every day was great, a cpl weeks early to spot th whales. The staff at the Natavai were so welcoming and friendly.Caught fish one day and the restaurant cooked it for us, a highlight.

The view!! The different spaces and options available to be in. Having access to everything in one property, ocean view, beautiful sunsets, air con, restaurant, pool, entertainment etc Rooms were super comfy. Amazing friendly staff.

Location , view and staff were amazing! We definitely recommend heading along to the welcome talk, where they explain how they operate, timings of events and breakfast/ meals / pool / bar. They introduce the local tour guides including and we can recommend the local tour which was a great way to learn the lay of the land. We also booked Explore Niue for a Dolphin and Snorkeling Expedition and Niue Blue for a Scuba Dive. We hired a car which can be completed with the hotel as well. Genuine staff and management - 5 stars!!!!!

Pre -arrival comms were a bit lax but once we arrived the welcome talk and management made us feel at home. Any issue we had was quickly resolved.
