Ryokan Yamazaki

- L'ambiance du ryokan, son jardin privée petit mais très jolie, tout pour être dans une ambiance sereine et détendu. - Le personnel très agréable et accueillant. - le repas typique des ryokans - un salon et une chambre spacieuse.

- La salle de bain un peu froide, quand on vient en hiver la sortie du bain est un peu dur.

The food was simply incredible! Such a refined variety and excellently crafted assortment of dishes given the price paid. The dining area was very proper as well, benefiting from the garden view. The actual rooms were located in a separate building and were quite spacious and comfortable. All necessary ammeneties were provided and I cannot much complain. I honestly very much enjoyed the stay, especially thanks to the amazing cuisine.

The pictures are a bit misleading as the area of natural beauty and seclusion is confined to the garden. The fact is that a road containing a surprisingly loud amount of traffic passes right next to the hotel, providing ample nuisance during the night as no walls nor windows are properly insulated.

お風呂がショボかった。 入ってみると快適で悪くなかった。

The view from the room was amazing, and the traditional breakfast was very good. We used the taxi service when leaving, which was quick, easy and inexpensive.

Getting to and from the hotel with luggage was not the easiest, as large luggage is not permitted on the local buses.

The restaurant is good and affordable.

It's too far away from the touristic Kyoto unless you want to specially stay in Arashiyama. Feel like the pictures were deceiving regarding the room size.
