Chalet Alpina

Our stay at Chalet Alpina was delightful! The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The bedrooms were cozy and warm, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the bathrooms were modern and inviting. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, including plenty of plates, mugs, and all the essential cookware. The highlight was the breathtaking view from the balcony, where we could admire the distant town of Ortisei and the stunning surrounding mountains. Parking was very convenient, with a garage located in the basement and an additional garage right next to the house. We also appreciated that the road to the house was plowed daily, which added an extra sense of safety during our winter visit. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Chalet Alpina!

The one downside of our stay was that we only received the door code at the official check-in time. After traveling overnight and all day from overseas, we found it stressful to coordinate with the apartment owners while driving. Thankfully, our cell phones worked in the country, but we couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if they didn’t. In that case, we might have been left with no option but to sleep in the car. It would have been much more convenient and reassuring to have the door code shared earlier.

The property contains several self contained apartments. We stayed in "Garden 2", which had 2 bedrooms (one double, one single, additional spare bed) and a small living and dining area (with a bed for our 4th person made up on the couch). It was warm, well equipped and comfortable. It is a short drive to the centre of Ortesei. There is a garage and ski room downstairs for your gear, a second garage if you have an additional vehicle, and a stand alone shared sauna. There is also access to a washing machine in the laundry. We had the whole property to ourselves most of our stay. The view was the highlight though - absolutely incredible. Overall, it was a very good stay.

The property is run 100% remotely. There are some forms to fill out that you get emailed after you reserve, then after you complete them you are given access to instructions and the codes to unlock doors and the garage. Sauna access is limited to 30 mins per room between 5pm - 8pm, laundry is €5 per use (be honest, leave money in the room when you leave). They make this work, and I understand it probably saves costs, but it's a bit annoying. I'd prefer to have some available on site to assist if required and it'd also be more comfortable if you could freely access the sauna, laundry etc at all times. The room had no iron, no bathtub, no stove, just a cooktop. Overall, it was still a very good stay.

Location was incredible. It was clean and nice for what we needed. The view was amazing!

Finding the location was a challenge. The Google maps link shared was not accurate. They did give an extensive pdf with photos to help locate the driveway but they were out of date and not super clear. Maybe it’s time to update those photos with current landmarks. There was another gourd staying there that were completely lost as well and we helped guide them. Not that it could be helped but the upstairs guests were really loud and running around late. It also felt like it was missing some amenities that are usually present: kitchen sponge, hand soap for bathroom, dish washer soap, paper towels etc… we don’t mind buying them, it would have just been nice to know that they are not included.

The views were great! Our appartment was well furnished and had plenty of space to rest between activities.

The elevator from the basement was very slow. We would have appreciated if there was salt, pepper and maybe olive oil already stocked in the kitchen. Althoug there was a very comprehensive booklet about the property, we still felt like the rooms could have been a little better identified...

Could not find easy the place and when you get there, not evident to know which door to open (there are 6 appartements)..I realized after of course that the explanations where in the PDF they provided..but who read PDF these days? A simple number on the appartement will be a much clearer solution..

Connection with the owners is problematic

The view is beautiful, it helped me to force myself to enjoy until the end of my stay

I wished to meet the host, but unfortunately he was not present and I do not know anything about him The place is very far from services and the road is bad and narrow. My car broke down because of a piece of metal that got into the tire of the car. I suffered a lot and paid a lot of money to repair it. I did not find anyone who could help me. Like the rest of the apartments in which I lived, the host was always there to help. The sound of the dog that constantly annoyed us and we couldn't sleep because of it I paid 1,800 euros for housing for six days. It was supposed to do laundry for free, not 5 euros per wash, and this thing annoyed me and my family very much. If you are going to pay this money, you must first think about another place of residence where you can find comfort and safety I do not recommend housing and I will not come back again
