Both are so nice.

Central location. Nice staff.

The rooms smelled musty. It was so hot and muggy in the building. It was 25 degrees in Birmingham and the windows didn't open and were nailed shut. Very low natural lighting in the room. It's not super dated but could do with a refurb. The pictures online definitely looked more modern, better lighting or enhanced in some way, compared to in person. We also found bloody tissues under our bed.

Passable option for a couple of nights. One of two hostels in Birmingham. This is the more spacious and styled onenear the Jewelry Quarter. Reasonable facilities but not as good as when the cellar was the common area under the previous operator. Bit of an upward track to get to the small self catering kitchen.

Slightly awkward walk through a subway into the old industrial area which is a bit dingy. Lockers are a bit awkward. Was faulty on the bed I was allocated. First room I stayed in the shower was broken but I moved and it was much better. No TV lounge.

Looks nice from the outside

The fact I was sold a room that was dirty and had not been cleaned .even one of the beds had been slept in .underwear hanging out of the bin .spring sticking through the mattress and what looks like bodily fluid on the mirror and rubbish on the window sill .

Very clean and peaceful place to stay. Especially, the staff are highly professional, kind and helpful

On arrival ،I was welcomed and booked in by a very kind and polite African lady. The room I stayed in was so tidy and clean. In the morning before leaving the hostel, a very kind and polite African gentleman named Daniel booked me out. I asked him if I could have a cup of boiling water, he did in a very polite manner.
