Hotel Silva

We spend 2 nights (2 adults + 1 child). It was confortable, quiet and simple. Not charming but practicle hotel. Same thing for the quarter. The employees are very friendly and nice. The price is correct, but without the breakfast.

We were warmly greeted,shown adequate rooms(one was re-arranged on request then), the restaurant was open till 11pm, the breakfast served early for us. The manager was generous as we accidentally booked an extra room He gave us a map of the town with directions to where we needed to walk Our first night in Spain was enjoyable Our Camino got off to a good start

Has the official stamp for camino, nice people, from here you can go direct to camino to avoid city center... A little bit far from center for tourists purposes, but quiet and 20 minutes walk from city center

The Silva is a quiet, clean family run hotel that offers excellent value. It's tucked away on a side street about 2km from the station, more from the old centre, but there are frequent buses from a stop a two minute walk away. Good rooms, helpful staff - and there are a bunch of nice little bar-restaurants a short walk away across the main road. The bargain price compensates for the distance from town - the bus is only Euro1.20

I stayed here the night before starting El camino ingles. They were very friendly!! They even asked what time we wanted our breakfast ready so that we could start El camino early. The walls are a bit thin, but the beds were comfy, it was clean, and I had no problems here. I would recommend if you need a simple, cheap, and friendly place to stay before starting El Camino. They have a stamp for your credencial.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. It is a good place for starting your Camino Ingles. You can collect your Credential from the reception and to be advised by the staff. I really recommend it for such a travel reason.

The Hotel Silva was the perfect place for us to prepare for the pilgrimage walk to Santiago along the St James route, 120 km away. It is a clean, friendly, laid back hotel, with good service and all that is necessary for a comfortable stop.

I arrived here on Sunday 20th April at about 9.45pm, tired after a long journey by plane and then FEVE to Ferrol (San Xoan FEVE station is close to the hotel). I was met by a friendly lady who spoke good English and gave me loads of information on the Camino Ingles, including a booklet, a map of Ferrol with the initial Camino Ingles section and, best of all, a pilgrims passport so I didn't have to get one from the tourist office the next day. The room was warm and comfortable enough for the low price of the hotel and when I got up the next morning, the coffee bar downstairs was already open Fab! Very much recommended.

Personnel is outstanding. Late checkin but they made me some food nevertheless. Good information about Ferrol and the start of the Camino. All is perfect for this type of hotel and pricerange. I would certainly return.
