We were in the self-catering cottage. The property was clean and well-equipped. Could have done with instructions for the oven but we eventually got the hang of it. We loved the proximity of the animals and the freedom to roam the farmyards, and Northumberland is lovely in the Autumn. You're within a short drive of Hexham and Corbridge, which are both worth a visit. You're also not far from Hadrian's Wall. Also, The Rose and Crown in Slaley serves lovely food and has a great atmosphere.

"Very comfortable all that was missing was a view from the room of the lovely surrounding countryside"

10.0

Good selection at breakfast including full English - and double portions if you are really hungry! Family room was very spacious. Nicely decorated, light and airy and with good heating for the chilly nights. Host Elizabeth was very friendly and helpful.

Bathroom was a little cramped. We banged our hips on the washbasin if we didn't open the door fully. You could hear the noisy electrical switches in the next room being turned on and off through the stud wall as loud as if they were in our room. View from the room was the inside of the hay barn and a couple of horse boxes.
