The Perch Resort

Nice cozy rustic stay with the creek flowing right in front of the cabin. The room is nice and cozy with 2 adult beds and one small kid bed. The bathhouse is separate from cabin but is clean. The only thing missing in bathhouses is the bath rug mat. It gets all wet and difficult to wear clothes in the changing area attached to bathroom. The door opens only with keys from outside. We dint know it and had to run to the office to get other key which is little far from the cabins on a hill.

I knew this was my kind of place the moment the lady of the resort cracked a joke and could take one right back. A sense of humor? In the hospitality industry? Be still, my heart. The cabin was adorable—just the right mix of cozy charm and “yes, I could totally live here forever if society would let me.” It was perfect for a little getaway with my daughter. She claimed the loft as her personal kingdom, while I enjoyed not climbing a ladder for once. The setting? Straight out of a postcard. Tucked next to a stream that gurgled us to sleep like a babbling ASMR artist. Peaceful, quiet, and only interrupted by the occasional joyful shriek of my child “accidentally” throwing rocks into said stream. Bonus: there’s a great little pizza joint and bar down the road. Delicious carbs, cold drinks, and locals who welcome you like they’ve known you since birth or at least high school gym class. We genuinely loved our stay and wished we could’ve stretched it a few more days. If you're into nature, good vibes, and people who know how to laugh—this is your spot.

It was a decent stay. The room was clean but very basic. Coffee maker was not working but replaced immediately when we notified the owner. The cabins are pretty close together and we had a very belligerent and noisy guest that woke us up very early. Of course that was no fault of the owners or property.

The resort was breathtaking, quiet and quaint. The proprietors were friendly and helpful.

Location. Pizza restaurant

Poor value. Price was very high for quality of lodging. The attendant suggested to change my room from what I originally booked because 2nd bed was too small. Required an up charge. Far more expensive that all my other stays in Alaska, for a mediocre room.

Such a cool property. The beautiful noise of running water was so nice and the cabins were much nicer than I expected. They were like little hotel rooms.
