Hotel Casona Solar

The hotel was set in a historic building, and staying there felt like traveling back in time. The room was big and comfortable. Staff was kind and welcoming, and the location was perfect. The breakfast was very good.

The room had windows that can not be covered at night, and was very bright in the morning. Also the room was close to the reception and so a bit noisy

Excelente ubicación, a 5 min andando de la plaza de armas. Un ambiente tranquilo, con una zona interior común muy agradable para sentarse y descansar. Las habitaciones muy espaciosas y perfectas de temperatura. Gran amabilidad del personal.

The hotel itself is stunning. It’s a historic property, made from ashlar; the courtyard is a welcome oasis of calm. The breakfast was good and we were able to check-in early. We location if great - it is just a short walk to the main square.

We booked onto the Colca Canyon tour, but the communication wasn’t great. We didn’t receive any information beforehand, and were told 3 different start times by 3 different members of staff. One of the activities on the tour was hot springs - we didn’t bring any swimming costumes as we weren’t aware of this.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The property is a former mansion that once belonged to a Peruvian president who served from 1899 to 1903. He purchased it during that time and lived here after his term ended. Staying here feels like being part of history, and the rooms are beautifully designed with high ceilings. If you enjoy historical buildings like I do, you will definitely appreciate it. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was spotless, and the location was convenient. I’m glad I chose this place instead of a traditional hotel.

Very cozy hotel. Service is outstanding. Facilities are comfortable.
