Hotel Casona Solar

Die Architektur des Hauses war außerordentlich spannend, mit Gewölbezimmern, Frühstücksbereich mit Resten von Deckenmalerei und zwei schönen Innenhöfen. Da unser Zi.mer keine Fenster, nur eine Tür zum Hof hatte, war es trotz Innenstadtlage sehr ruhig.

We stayed in the apartment and it was wonderful to have so much space! The courtyard is so peaceful and I loved sitting out and reading. The entire hotel is kept so clean. The staff are attentive and helpful. Laundry can be dropped off at reception and delivered to your room at the end of the day. The location is amazing, very easy to get to the main plaza and the market. I felt very safe walking around. I would definitely stay here again.

I wish there had been more food choices at breakfast. The bathroom is renovated, but the shower gets the floor wet. The second bedroom does get warm, but well placed fans help. The spiral staircase was great for us, but very young children or mobility impaired would have issues.

Great location and cool common areas. The stone used throughout all of Arequipa is the main building material here and looks great with the rest of the city. Pretty great security as well.

While we were very excited to stay in what was described as Casona's largest and most premium room, a number of significant issues made our stay quite unpleasant: 1. A persistent sewage smell coming from the bathroom, which worsened over time. When asked if they could fix, the cleaning staff only provided aerosol spray rather than fixing the source of the issue. The odor spread throughout the room when the bathroom door was open. 2. The hair dryer never worked, even after we were told it would be fixed/replaced. 3. Dust in the bed area made sleeping difficult and caused sore throats. 4. Our soap/shower dispenser was empty on arrival and never refilled - we were only given small soap packets instead. 5. The shower sprayed water all over the floor due to poor design. 6. A dirty cleaning cloth was left behind in after a "cleaning". While each issue was frustrating, the overwhelming sewage odor made it extremely difficult to spend time in the room comfortably. We reported this on our first morning, but unfortunately, the situation worsened throughout our stay. Even more unfortunate, when trying to talk with the staff after, they said we should have tried to get another room at a different property if we were unhappy - no acknowledging the horrific smell that made our experience there awful. Given the number and severity of these problems — particularly the sanitation concern — we would not recommend this property until the staff takes proper responsibility for their rooms. We chose their highest-category room expecting a premium experience, and this fell well below reasonable standards. Unfortunately, the trip was vastly ruined by the state of the room.

Personeel is erg aardig en behulpzaam. Mooi historisch gebouw. Goed ontbijt.

We zaten in een kleinere kamer die geen raampje had om open te zetten voor ventilatie.

Very friendly and nice staff. The room was clean and spacious. The view was amazing.
