Ringhotel Paulsen

My husband and I were in search of a schnitzel, but we didn't see many options in Zeven, where pizzerias and Greek restaurants seem to have conquered the market. However, we went to the restaurant at Ringhotel Paulsen believing that if anyone would have a schnitzel, it would be them. And we were right. Being a Wednesday night, the restaurant was not crowded. Actually there were only two other people there so we could sit wherever we wanted to. We chose a table by the window and were given menu cards immediately. The waiter took our drinks order and quickly brought us two beers. A little while later she brought us a basket of bread and mayo, which she obviously forgot, but it was okay. The food arrived fairly quickly and we were not disappointed. These were real schnitzels as you would expect them to be. The meal was around 35 Euros, so very reasonable. Next to the restaurant there is a bar. It had a lot more guests and seemed cosy, so we might go there next time we are in town.

My room was large and comfortable, with rather old fashioned style, but what does that matter,it was clean and comfortable. The restaurant is clearly a favorite with the locals and we had a delicious meal at the pub/ restaurant. An excellent and varied breakfast was served. Service was efficient and friendly.

Everything delightful unfortunately far too short a stay.

In Zeven for business from Australia, Travelling with my wife. Decent room size with a functional and clean but small bathroom. Front desk and restaurant staff spoke good English with all other staff being very pleasant and accommodating right down to loaning my wife a bicycle. The restaurant had very good food. I thought the room price to be a little expensive as there is no mini bar, refrigerator or tea/coffee making facility. The TV has no English speaking channels. The free wifi can drop out in the evening and the room we had could be noisey from the road and pedestrian traffic. King bed.(Two singles pushed together) this is not unusual, but the beds were so hard they made for an aweful nights sleep and very sore and stiff body the next morning. The uncomfortable bedding led to my decision not to extend my stay even though I needed to be in Zeven for another 2 weeks. Breakfast was good with very pleasant staff and a reasonable selection of good food. Parking is free.

This hotel is family run and takes part in the Ringhotels group. That gives you the certainty that it matches with high quality standards. Upon entering the lobby I was greeted by the owner who rapidly handed the key and give me all necessary information. I booked a single room which was quite spacious , in the second floor of the hotel. Bathroom looked like recently renovated. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Wifi was free in the whole hotel, I experienced it to be good and stable in the main areas, in my room however the signal dropped sometimes. The restaurant annex bierstube was a busy place thatnight, however service was fast and the food was good. All in all a good place to stay when in Zeven. Price / Quality was OK, not the cheapest around but with the personal touch and the good food I had nothing to complain about.

We loved our two-night stay at the Ringhotel Paulsen on August 17 and 18, 2014. The family and staff took excellent care of us, attending to every small detail. We loved that the owner took time to personally come and greet us at breakfast on the first morning. We met other members of the family as well, and all were so welcoming we felt as if we were at home. The food here is outstanding and creatively prepared. I especially enjoyed the cozy and warm atmosphere of the bar area where I enjoyed two dinners. The houses schnapps is also delightful! Rooms are excellent and fully modern, with more modernization on the way. Wireless access could be improved but hey, no place is perfect except maybe Heaven. The Hotel Paulsen is close enough.

Very cordial and will certainly continue to go to Hotel Paulsen as three generations of my family have since the 1930's

On the whole a pleasant hotel with pleasant friendly staff, nice restaurant (and bar) with a very good cuisine. Rooms and bathroom are very clean.

I spent a week here while visiting my fiance who works in Zeven and I was very impressed. I've travelled in many countries and I've very rarely felt so welcomed and looked after - I was thrilled with the service we recieved. It definitely deserves more than its 3stars. It is a lovely, family-run hotel and Herr Paulsen was always on-hand to make me feel welcome and help me out - greatly appreciated seeing as I don't speak German! Herr Paulsen's mother runs the Breakfast Room, making sure I was well stocked up on coffee and had eaten my fill. Usually I like to go out and about but my fiance and I ate in a number of evenings as the Restaurant just couldn't be beaten! The Chocolate Mousse dessert is out-of-this-world ... heaven on a plate! The rooms are quite basic, but this is such a lovely area of Germany that we weren't oftern in our room. They were clean, well kept by the staff and comfy, what more could you want? We were a lucky enough to be in Zeven for the Harvest festival (3rd week in October) and I'd highly recommend it - lots of local specialities available to try! I can't recommend this hotel and the restaurant enough - we had a super week and we hope you do too!
