Hotel Caporal

The hospitality shown by the owner Gaspare and Monica was fabulous. They greeted us at check in, every morning at breakfast, and throughout the day. Gaspare gave us directions to restaurants and the Lemon Trail and to Ravello, truly a wonderful host. The Caporal Hotel is a 4 minute walk to the port and city center. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable...pillows a bit hard. (Typical European style pillow) . Noise level was low between 8 pm to 7 am, once the motorcycles stopped. Breakfast was a wonderful array of pastries, croissants, yogurt, fruits and coffee and teas. We did not go away hungry! Literally, the attentiveness from Gaspare with his friendly demeanor was priceless!

I would like a choice of pillows!

This is a hotel with its Italian tradition, characters and warm hospitality. The hotel delivered good quality and value for its price in Amalfi, rooms and facility here are fiting it's class and kept super clean for it's age. If you are an experienced traveller to Amalfi, you would know this location is golden: best food and restaurants around, better beach front, a quiet escape from crowded Amalfi after you tired day, nearest charming neighbor town to all main sightseeing points. Here is well connected by the ferry and bus to everywhere. Especially to mention that, the old respectful gentleman - the owner of the hotel, he is the jewel of the entire busienss. Don't want use his real name for the privacy purposes. He and his team are super responsible for every one of his guests. Follow his advises, listen to his words, enjoy his stories, he will bring you the genuine Italy. . Highly recommended!

The owner is a kind, exceptionally helpful man. The breakfast is great and the hotel is perfectly clean.

The hotel is a little dated but that is not a problem because everything works well.

Wonderful stay! The owners were so sweet, always greeted us warmly. Best cappuccino out of all the hotels we stayed. Beds were comfy and room was spacious. I enjoyed breakfast each morning. Just a couple minutes walk to the beach. I am dreaming of my next visit!

It was located on the street, close to the beach and the bus station.

The breakfast was very poor. There was no bread, they only had elastic buns, inedible. I bought bread and avocado from the city to have for breakfast. I only used honey for the coffee. There was only one type of salami and one type of cheese, the patron would come to cut it for you and ask you if you wanted a slice or two. Anyway, it was a bad salami, I tried it one morning, it was fatty and of poor quality. I haven't tried cheese, it didn't inspire me with confidence. The only vegetables he had were tomatoes. I did not see any fruits. The worst was the fact that on booking.com, the city tax is 2 euros/night/person and the owner asked for 3 euros/night/person. The owner of the hotel followed you continuously at breakfast. I asked for a bigger cup to prepare the cocoa I had from home. I went to the bathroom to rinse the cup and the patron followed me to the bathroom and watched me wash the cup. I left the door to the small bathroom next to the breakfast room open for him to see. They had disposable cups in the room, the room was minimal. I stayed 4 nights but received only one small soap on the second day. We had to buy soap.

The location is amazing, just in the middle of costa amalfitana and perfect point to go to all famous villages. Owners made us feel home

No late check out

The staff were amazing and very accommodating. They were very helpful with information regarding the area and how to get around. On the last morning of our stay we had to leave early. The manager of the hotel opened breakfast early so we could have breakfast before we left. The hotel was close to ferry terminal and bus stop. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance and a self service laundry around the corner.

The staff were exceptionally kind, helpful and polite. The hotel, while not fancy, was clean, comfortable, in a quiet location and close to the town square and bus stop. The breakfast was great.
