Hotel Kertess

From the email I received a few days before our trip and to being dropped off at the station at the end of our stay I cannot fault this hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful and any request was immediately dealt with happily. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our room faced the road side and I will ask for a mountain view when I next stay. However, our room was fine. The food and service at the hotel are excellent. Great food choices and the restaurant staff were very attentive. The swimming pool is a good way to ease tired muscles and there is a small garden to sit in the sun. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very warm welcome and helpful, friendly staff. Good English spoken. Great food, generous quantities. Up a hill but the free shuttle was available every day.

We got a surprise and got "bumped-up" to a suite, so my review might be even more positive, but I would definitely recommend this hotel. The place was charming. The food was fantastic! The service was always prompt and friendly. Diverse groups of people had drinks in the bar in the evening, which is fun. The hotel ski shuttle was convenient in the morning and the free town shuttle went right by at other times. The only two things to consider when booking: We had a "toilet" room and then a bathroom, which is inconvenient. And it's a 12 min steep walk from the lifts when you get stuff between shuttle times in the evening.

Hotel's half board was good value and quality. Single room was ok size, bathroom large. Hotel is quite far from lifts but they offer free shuttle and buses coming back so not so much issue. They have good sauna area, and a small pool too.

The owner kept a loose German Shepard free in the lobby, which attacked my dog which luckly I was able to pick up my dog before any injury could happen. We informed the owner to tie the dog or to remove the dog from the hotel, but the owner stated it never bite any dog in the past eventhough one of their staff mentioned the owner's dog got in a fight with another dog which the owner denied.

The only disappointment is the SPA is not available at the weekend when we were there. (open only 3 days in the week) - so this is only a 50% SPA hotel

This hotel is exactly as the reviews say it is. The surrounding area is beautiful. We would have liked to have stayed longer.

I loved my stay at Hotel Kertess. Having a pool and a sauna to relax in at the end of a hard day's snowboarding was great, the ski bus was really convenient and the staff were incredibly obliging. On my last day I left for the train station too early to catch breakfast so they made me a lunch pack and brought it up to my room! I was stunned by that to be honest, so thoughtful. What impressed me most was the food. I've stayed in a lot of Austrian hotels with half board and I expected the usual slice of toast with ham in the morning and a bowl of gruel in the evening with salad buffet. The breakfast was fantastic and the evening meal was even better. Six courses every night cooked to a very high standard, real gourmet dishes from a chef that is clearly destined for bigger things. The hotel is up a hill and very easy walking distance to St Anton centre, walking home after a day on the piste can be a bit tough though so it's better to make the ski bus unless you're fit. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and the maids even creatively folded any clothing they found lying around which was a nice touch! All in all hotel Kertess is a great hotel and will be my go to place the next time I visit St Anton.
