Byron Bay Rainforest Resort

We enjoyed the beach and the locals were friendly.

I had checked inside the kettle to boil the water. Jug was filled with ants inside.

Staff were friendly, beds were clean and comfortable. Villas are quite private from each other and we had lovely rainforest type views from our two apartments.

The pool and spa are currently being renovated which I wasnt aware of until check in, so these couldn't be used. Bathrooms are quite dated and I hate the shower curtains instead of doors.

Located away from the bustle and nestled amongst nature, this felt like a true getaway. The vibe is unpretentious and relaxed. The cabin had all basic necessities for cooking which is a bonus if you're on a budget. They had a great selection of teas and plunger coffee. The room was spacious. It was good to have a big smart TV for the evenings after being outside all day. The best part was undoubtedly that the resort is dog friendly, meaning that we were able to bring our cavoodle. There was a nice walk through the bush to the lake behind which is very scenic at dawn and dusk.

The downside was most definitely that the advertised pool was out of action,- completely empty and, according to staff, maybe not fixable. This was unexpected and not disclosed at time of booking. Also note that the resort charges extra per pet- up tp $60 per animal and this is charged outside of the Bookings.com platform. This isn't clear on Bookings. However, the positives most definitely outweigh these 2 factors. We loved our stay and are very grateful to the owners for offering a little sanctuary that people can enjoy with their pets and family.
