Hotel Piccolo Mondo

It's such a shame that awful management and upkeep spoiled what could be a lovely hotel. We checked out early because of all the problems we had and were told we would get a refund. Since then the manager has refused to process a refund and respond to messages. I have never felt so ripped off by a hotel This is in NO way a 4-star hotel, the facilities and condition are barely 3 stars. We booked for a week in September to find that our room, a bungalow suite, was shabby, dirty and needed repair. There was no wifi at all in the room and no mobile reception, so we had to ask especially for a coffee machine which seemed to be a problem. The shower didn't work! What was worse was the staff and management. Staff were having audible arguments over breakfast service, we were made to feel like a nuisance for asking for foods which had run out. The cleaning staff just left bags of dirty laundry from other rooms on our porch. A change of management and a refurb is seriously needed

The views from everywhere in the hotel are stunning. The pool was huge with fresh sea water, beautiful.

The hotel facilities were closed and we were not informed until we arrived..No bars, restaurant or snack bar open. no yoga classes etc When we said "this is a like a B&B and not a hotel" , the owners pretty much ignored us. We were not offered any compensation and we were disappointed we did not get what we paid for .

Pool staff was neutral to borderline unkind. Made us feel like it was a burden to order food and drink. Also rooms are very standard - nothing special. Was significantly overpriced, but we were there during Ferragosto.

Hotel rooms were basic but had a certain charm and were clean and comfortable. Hotel location beautiful with great views and the pool area and bar were fabulous. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The restaurant's menu was very limited, and as we had half board, we got bored with it by the end of the week. Staff were lovely but service was pretty slow even though the hotel was not at all busy. I'd hate to be there in high season. Breakfast was the same every day and also could have been a bit more interesting.

After much travelling we wanted just to chill out for a few days and this was a great place to do just that.It’s a huge sprawling cliff top property with the most amazing views and a lovely pool area. There’s an outdoor cinema area, a tennis court, a bocce area, a little stone chapel and hundreds of steps down to the sea. The staff were very friendly too. A special shout out to Alessandra!

The property was a little rundown but if it was updated it would probably be 6 star and totally unaffordable! The furniture in the rooms are bit basic but it was clean and everything worked, so no complaints. Just be aware that there are hundreds of stone stairs on the property and, in fact, all over Castro and not many handrails anywhere, so not suited to the less mobile.

We loved the pool , there were always sun loungers available. The view is absolutely incredible. The staff are lovely , it felt very homely and sweet. The common areas were always clean and understatedly chic. It’s an old property that has a few cracks and imperfections but it has truly kept it’s 70s Italian charm which is hard to come by.

It’s on an incline , and no lifts , so it’s not good to a family with a pram For example. Our daughter was is 6 and it was all manageable.
