Hôtel Saint Louis de France

Just checked in and despite the website ad that claims all rooms have air conditioners, they do not. The entire 5th floor has none and my room is stifling and no fan or any way to circulate the air. Opening the window helps very little because it is over a courtyard. Staff says nothing they can do. In addition, on Check-in for our group, staff told us they would lock our hand luggage while we were awaiting our rooms. Instead they were left in a luggage cart in front of the lobby bathrooms until someone noticed and spoke up. I speak fluent French and interpret for the group, but they clearly don’t care. Maybe they should since the large tour operator who booked it will never use them again.

My husband and I shared a double room on the 7th floor. The room also could have slept a child as there was a small single bed along with the double. The room was clean and fresh towels and linens were provided daily, however the bed wasn't the most comfortable and it moved far to easily. The room was spacious and the bathroom was well equipped although a little dated, the only real issue we had with the room was the lack of drawer space. We spent the week living from our cases as the small wardrobe could only accommodate a few of our items. We were full board and the food was generally good and plentiful. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and friendly, many of whom were multilingual. I understand that many of the rooms have been refurbished and now have better furniture and air conditioning and that they hope to complete all rooms in time. The negatives were greatly outnumbered by the positives in this hotel and we wouldn't hesitate to return and recommend a stay here. Nice family room facing the river. Staff could speak English. Excellent food in restaurant. The manager also joined to serve us. Clean and tidy room. Housekeeping staff tidied the room every day. Will stay again

I arranged a trip for 50 people to Lourdes for 7 nights and without a doubt I would stay in this hotel again. I dealt with Chloe when making the booking, she always replied promptly and helped to arrange Mass daily in a local Church. Any requests I made she helped in any way possible. Unfortunately during our stay we had two people hospitalised. David was the first responder for one of the incidents and the skill he showed made us think that he was a trained medic. David & Chloe went above and beyond to help as much as possible, they spoke to doctors on a daily basis and arranged taxis to and from the hospitals for us. On certain nights some of the group didn't like the meal option that was being served so the staff ensured to give them another option even though this was not on the menu. On nights when we were in the hospital visiting dinner was kept for us until we returned. The rooms were very clean, I was on a floor that I would imagine was recently renovated but I was also in some of the rooms that weren't renovated and they were also very clean. The décor might have been a bit dated but I couldn't fault these rooms either. The location in perfect, it's about a 10min walk away from the Shrine with plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. All of the staff members were very polite and were up for a laugh with the group (which they had to be with our lot!). George was another staff member who went out of his way to help us. I cannot praise this this hotel enough and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody. You can really see that David & Chloe care about the hotel and it customers and this filters down to their staff. David & Chloe even made sure to be there on our last day and came out while we boarded the bus to say goodbye to everyone. The rating this hotel has does not reflect the true experience, so don't hesitate just book!

Stayed for a few days with a group of friends. The staff went out of their way to help and were always pleasant and cheerful. The hotel is in a very convenient position for restaurants, tourist attractions and of course the Sanctuary. The facilities and rooms were very good for the price range. I will stay again and would recommend it to my friends.

I can honestly say that David and Chloe were the most Amazing hosts. George the bar man was also extremely friendly as was his follicly challenged friend. We stayed for 3 nights. We were a large group and they couldn't have done enough for us. We saw the sights and amenities of the town and also took in the World Cup mountain bike 'festival'. As well as some marvellous rugby. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back as they care about you, it's not overly priced, so represents excellent value . Merci - A bientot

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel and found both the staff and management very helpful and friendly. The food was good and had a varied menu each day. The Hotel spotless throughout. I have no problem recommending the St Louis Hotel.

Great place but needs more a/c,s when it is really hot throughtout the rooms especially when it is 38 degrees celius .....The staff were very friendly and concern about their guests............THE ROOM THAT WE WERE STAYING AT WAS FACING THE RIVER AND COOL AT NIGHT WHEN WE OPEN THE WINDOWS ....IT WAS GREAT TO HEAR THE ENTERTAINMENT BY THE RIVER.....WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN AT SAINT LOUIS DE FRANCE ....Thanks again Geraldine the lady in red a the front desk ...you couldn't do enough for us, you and your staff....bye for now

Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The food is varied and tasty, buffet at lunch, hot meal in the evenings. It is conveniently placed by the river and the Lourdes sanctuary for those visiting the grotto. They can collect from Tarbes airport.
