Timber House Resort

Room was cozy and bed comfortable. Place was clean and supplied with everything we needed. It was different vs standard hotels in having a common kitchen and living room for our use (shared with other guests) like a country house. The breakfast was prepared to order - eggs, toast or pancakes and bacon. Help yourself to juice, coffee or tea and fresh raisin bread. They serve gourmet jams for those that like unique flavours.

We didn’t realize it was not in Brighton ( 10 minute drive) and not on the water. There are trailer homes between the inn and the water. What makes it a resort? Maybe in summer months having the pool would be nice but at this time of year it is not what we would call a “resort” as no spa, no sauna, no restaurant, no fitness facility, no beach, no one at front desk when we arrived at 5:30 pm. Breakfast was served in the great hall which is impressive except for the tables which are long and narrow reminding me of a school cafeteria.

Das Gebäude ist sehr schön und auch die Zimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet. Es gibt eine Gemeinschaftsküche in der man sich jederzeit Kaffee zubereiten kann oder Essen warmmachen. Das Frühstück war selbstgemacht und wurde für jeden Gast nach Wunsch zubereitet. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und die Betten waren bequem.

Das Zimmer war leider nicht sehr sauber. Die Lage hat mich etwas überrascht - ich dachte das Hotel liegt direkt am See. Es ist aber Teil einer größeren Ferienanlage, die kleinen privaten Trailer liegen am Wasser, das Hotel ist etwas zurückversetzt und hat keinen Seeblick. Die Gastgeberin war nicht unfreundlich, aber etwas lustlos.
