La Quinta by Wyndham Pearsall

I specifically checked the pet fee - Pasted right now from the Pearsall LaQ website "Fees - Non-refundable 25 USD nightly for up to 2 pets. Max 75 USD per stay." and when I got to the hotel. The front desk person said that it was PER DOG so I had to pay $50. I said "But your website says up to 2 pets for $25" "NO, it is per pet" "So, how am I supposed to know this when your website says up to 2 pets?" Then, 2 other random employees came over to say that I was completely wrong. Wow. Thanks, I was too tired to pull up the website on my phone. This was not a friendly welcome.

It was really bad they had told me the pool has a warmer before I paid the room and I said ok so I got it and paid when I got here the day I had to check in I asked again and the gentleman said no it isn’t warm and I told him they lady had told me it was and he said no and we have like a jacuzzi but that one isn’t working either was so terrible will not come again to this hotel after them lying to us

Location, as we where traveling from Austin and needed a place to rest before continuing to Mexico. Staff was nice.

Cockroaches in the bathroom

I believe the breakfast that was served was not good. I only had coffee and a small muffin that was stale. There were no fruit options and overall didn't have appetizing choices.

Man at the front desk was quite helpful in helping me find a better rate, local information, and when we needed some plasticware, finding some for us so we could eat the food we bought nearby.

Amenities offered out of commision. Didnt even stay the second night. Disputing the 1st night due to false adervsitement

Most hotels with indoor pools, it's hard to get to because they're swarming with kids. This one, the pool was a ghost town. At first I thought this was great, finally i get a chance to use the pool, maybe even invite family to join. But then I found out why nobody was using the pool: it's not heated. Put your hand in that water...hypothermia, anyone? No thanks. The hot tub was also a joke. Room temperature tub, more like. The heaters weren't even on to warm the pool area up. Makes me wonder if they do it on purpose to be cheap. If they really want to save money, they may as well just close the pool down, since it's not even used. I was actually quite upset about this because i chose this hotel for that reason. Next time I'll know. Now their breakfast. It's BYOB, guys: bring your own bacon. No meats. Just what could be powdered eggs mixed with little chunks of raw potato. But hey, you got waffles, cereal, bagels, and a toaster (make sure to stand by, it's not timed, it just toasts on and on and on). The staff? I got one guy who was smiley, helpful, and friendly. The rest seemed like you were bothering them, not knowing and not wanting to know what customer service oriented means. Probably won't stay here again.
