The Chequers Inn

Very good choice and beautifully presented. I did think the staffing levels were tight not that this affected the delivery of the main plate but I think they were too busy to talk or ask about things like more tea or coffee and toast. I felt that the food was under strict portion control. I understand this when waste has to be avoided but a little more attention would perhaps be an advantage. Overall a great stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Thank you.

Excellent meal, beautiful garden, comfortable room.

Friendly welcome, good beer, very nice meal, comfy room, great breakfast.

Bed very comfortable, food was excellent and staff all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was of top quality. Beer garden very nice with great views. Also a little shaded terrace behind the pub nice.

With premises on side of a main road, some noise to be expected. With warm weather and window open this is unavoidable, but perhaps ear plugs could be provided

Beautiful historic building with cosy nooks, a gorgeous beer garden with fantastic views. Super bedroom and a great bathroom. Very comfy beds & lovely homely touches. The staff were wonderful - and the food absolutely delicious!

The road was busier than expected and it was a hot weekend so having the windows open at night made it a bit nosy.

A cute comfortable place with very friendly staff. Good breakfast. In chilly days bathroom heating and a hot bath add a lot. A great value for money.

Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, the room was very comfortable and the staff were really friendly.
