Blind in the bathroom didn't work TV signal didn't give bbc channels, and TV was on the sidewall, so it was difficult to watch

Main building and garden rooms need redecoration, except en-suite which was very modern
GBGBI stayed in one of annex rooms off the main Hotel building. The room was very clean and very well presented. I rarely sleep well away from home but I found the bed very comfortable and I slept surprisingly well! En suite bathrooms were good too. All of the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The pub itself was welcoming and a great place to sit. It does get busy at peak times but I would be surprised if it didn't! The only Flaw: The food was well cooked and very tasty. It is traditional pub food, so could be considered a small menu but there was a good choice. However, the time it took to get food seemed unreasonable. On a not-busy evening, it took nearly 45 mins from ordering (pie and chips and vegetable dish) , and at breakfast it took over 30 mins for eggs on toast (eggs Benedict). It's not a deal breaker as the hotel and accommodation are great but due to the delays in food, we chose to eat elsewhere. A shame as the food (when it came) was very nice! Overall, a recommended stay.

Live private events that made dinner options limited or rushed. I found alternative places to eat for evening meal. (Chinese and Indian restaurants in short walking distance. Shops and other pubs that have hot food) Although breakfast was excellent, continental with a large range of fruit, yoghurts etc. Parking is on the street but free, no room at the back of the hotel/pub.
