The Bell in Ticehurst

Breakfast was really lovely. Loved the quirkiness.

Loved the quirky decor, the staff were very good, food good. atmosphere good. The room was very spacious and the heating worked well. We did have a problem with the hot water supply and I mention it in this box because the duty manager's reaction was excellent in that we were offered to shower in another room and were given a substantial price reduction for the inconvenience. Sometimes sh**t happens but it's how it's dealt with that matters.

Aforementioned hot water failure. Can't really fault the pub for this as it's a sign of a well run place, but it was packed so rather noisy in the bar and we couldn't get a table booking on the second night until 8pm. The latter point easily solvable by booking earlier, as we had for our first night. BTW, we ate in the annex the first night where it was quite peaceful.

Quirky country pub full of atmosphere, even on a Monday night in the middle of January. Excellent food and tasty local beers.

Lovely old coaching inn, pub menu which was a little limited, but ok.

The bathroom was lovely except that the shower was over the bath and it was very slippery, and quite difficult to get in and out of. Also not much space to put things.

Really lovely quirky boutique hotel with all amenities covered on site and around the area. Staff were super helpful too :)

Tad noisy during late evening due to it being a pub and Inn but we were expecting this so didn’t bother us too much!
