Good free spa facilities. Good sized rooms. Breakfast great, evening meal a bit expensive for the quality.

The staff was unfriendly. There are no curtains in the room. There was a construction site that started at 7.30 and the workers could see straight into our room. No privacy at all!

We stayed here for just over a week in early June, they promised a nice room with a balcony and lake view, and it was nice, very well appointed indeed. Whilst the quality of a hotel is partly the decor and appointments, the important parts are the staff, and I have to say the staff here are exemplary. Part way through I went down with a very unpleasant (and painful) attack of sciatica. The young lady in charge (a member of the Pra family, who also own and run the Hotel alla Posta, a couple of miles up the valley) arranged a couple of sessions with their masseur (he didn't cure it but certainly eased it) and found a local, English speaking, pharmacist to arrange analgesia. One evening I was hobbling from the Dining room to the lift, one of the waitresses saw me and brought over a chair for me to sit on and ride in the lift on. The next time we meet that young lady will certainly learn something to her advantage! The hotel is advertised as a sport hotel and is certainly kitted up for it, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and cycling and hillwalking in the summer. For those who like to travel light they have an excellent laundry service. If you are incapacitated (like me) sitting on the hotel terrace in the sun gazing over the lake sipping a large Aperol Spritz is to be recommended!

We have just spent five nights at the hotel on a cycling trip. The location is fantastic overlooking the lake, the room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. We would thoroughly recommend it.

This is my second stay here in this hotel, which has lovely lake views. Unlike last year, I booked quite late so I ended up with a small solo room with a sloping ceiling. I'm short so that didn't bother me too much although taller people may want to specify they need a room without the sloping ceiling! The real reason to keep coming back to this hotel and to give it four stars is the level of service. I think the mattress must have been new so I found it too hard to sleep on. When I mentioned this to reception, the man there looked instantly concerned and said he would send someone with an extra quilt for me to put on the mattress. Less than 20 minutes later, a knock on the door and there is Veronica from housekeeping with a lovely friendly attitude. I expected her to just hand me the quilt but no. She stripped off the bed and remade it completely. Then, as I don't speak any Italian, she used google translate on her phone and told me to tell her the next day if that was ok or if I needed a second quilt. Very proactive! Although the hotel isn't that far from the gondola, each day there is a minibus to take people to and from the hotel to the gondola. A much appreciated extra at the end of a long day. The food is superb. Christine was the only one of the wait staff to speak English and always had a smile for everyone. Due to religious reasons, there were a few things I couldn't eat but she never let me skip a course. Christine was lovely and kept suggesting different things until I gave in and stuffed myself with the excellent food. She also went over and above normal service. When one of our group came back late in the evening from hospital with his face partly bandaged and stitched up following a nasty fall on the slopes, Christine was immediately concerned. Although he had missed the dinner service, she got him a bowl of soup as well as a load of serviettes - which he needed for his broken nose. Massimo behind the bar gave our broken faced friend a drink on the house as the guy was still in shock and shaky. I didn't use the spa but I heard it was newly installed and the work completed the day we arrived. Everything I heard about the new spa was positive. Overall, the staff at this hotel are genuinely caring and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. I'll be back with snowHeads next year and already looking forward to it.

I enjoyed two very pleasant days in this hotel. Clean and spacious room with lake view. Accommodating staff. Grocery store, restaurants and a curch in immediate vicinity. Fabulous breakfast. Stunning views. Recommended.

Nice hotel with stunning view

We had a superior room with a lake view. The lake view was excellent, but the room was rather 'tired' with the furniture and carpet needing to be replaced. The bathroom too was a bit dated. Downstairs the hotel was in much better condition, and the breakfast and evening meals were generally good. The staff were really helpful and pleasant, but overall quite expensive for what it is.

Stayed two nights in Aug. 2014 on a multi-week trans-alp hiking trip. Hotel is at the lakefront in the heart of Alleghe. My room had a separate hallway, a spacious bedroom with lounge sofa and a large balcony overlooking the lake. Small Bathroom with shower. I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff and the experience with other staff members was very positive too. I used the health club (Sauna, steamroom) twice and found it sufficient. Very small gym corner. The downside would be that the room furniture and the health club seem a little outdated. Would still stay there again if the price is right. Paid roughly 100€ pN incl Breakfast.
