Tassili Lodge

Clean and spacious. But that's about it.

The room was spacious and clean but that was about it. After arriving we were informed that there was no WiFi or TV available due to maintenance. Considering we were travelling with two small kids we specifically looked for a guest house with atleast those 2 options available to keep the kids occupied as this was a last minute trip. There was no hot water so we had to take a cold shower and no towels. We had to ask for towels. The bathroom had no light either. We went down stairs to ask for coffee as it is sold in the lobby but there was no coffee available, only tea at R20 a cup. We bought cookies and then went upstairs. We then needed a glass and went downstairs to ask for one. Before asking we were rudely told that nothing is sold at night time by the same clerk that sold us the cookies. I then proceeded to ask for the glass but was told there are none and to take a mug from the tray. In the morning we went down to go get coffee which again wasn't available and bought cookies. We proceeded to book out of the facility. While waiting for the Uber we were told we can't sit in the lobby with the kids as they were snacking on the chips and cookies and no food or drink are allowed even though it is sold 2 metres from the lobby and behind the counter. My kids don't mess and I always clean up after them. We then proceeded to wait outside while booking an uber and lit a smoke. We were again chased and told to move to the side of the building because the smell was entering the front door. This after being told when booking in to smoke in the area we were standing in as that was the designated smoking area. The staff was very dull and some even rude and miserable. The facility is being renovated and none of this is communicated when the booking was confirmed. No WiFi, no TV, no hot water and no towels. Staff was not friendly and not very helpful. The hot water issue was reported to them btw but not attended to.
