Coral Beach Lodge

The hostel was very big and the pool area was lovely. The two people on reception were really helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean and it was cleaned daily. Each room also had their own hammock outside. Only downside was that the kitchen was filthy and it is also full of long term backpackers so not a sociable hostel to make friends but I only stayed for 3 nights.

Was just here for the day but stopped for directions. We were so looked after here it really made our visit to Port Douglas. Fantastic people, thank you so much. It left us with a great impression. Really appreciated your kindness

Was good for an overnight stay. The hotel have tried to modernise the rooms but it’s still a bit dated. Bathroom wasn’t very refreshing.

We had a 1 night stay and this worked perfectly for us. The room was clean and the bed quite comfortable, service was excellent. A pleasant, easy walk into town.

The Coral Beach Lodge, being a former Youth Hostel, is typical of budget hostels in having the usual common areas, pool, kitchen, laundry and basic rooms. The owners were all friendly and helpful. Despite plenty of signs to remind guests to keep the kitchen etc. clean and tidy, those guests there at the same time as us still seemed to expect their mothers to pick up after them; one can feel for the owners, who still have to tidy up these people's messes. The room was basic but clean and functional, although the need to leave the bathroom window permanently open (to avoid mould from the humidity) invited late-night noise into the room. The Lodge is a 15-minute walk from town through a nice neighbourhood.

Fantastic lodge! Tom & Kev are terrific and so accommodating! They are pleasant to everyone and even though there are some disrespectful guests, they try their hardest to get them to pick up their act so it doesn't affect others. Bonnie the friendliest dog at reception is gorgeous 🐶 and a bonus in my eyes 😊. Highly recommend.

Tom was very helpful and lovely. The bed had hair in it, there were pubic hairs in the bathroom, the floor was dirty with nail clippings on the tiles, there was a stain on the cushion that looked like it could be blood.

The private rooms are massive, super clean, comfortable, and have everything you could need (fast wifi, great AC, coffee/tea, multiple sitting areas). I wish I had more time to really take advantage of the communal spaces (dining areas, living room/lounges, billiards, kitchen, etc). It is a quick 10-15 min walk into town and less than 5 to 4 mile beach. The team at Coral Beach is BEYOND helpful and friendly. They really went the extra mile to help me during my stay (Tom brought me his personal adaptor from home so I could charge my camera the next day!) and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!
