Hotel has a great "feel"! Stopped before our last leg of a cross country trip with my mom and it was wonderful! Beds are a bit firm but I just prefer a softer bed

"What happened to the old Cedar Shores?"

This resort used to be our favorite place to stay. 12 years ago, we first happened upon this gorgeous spot on our way home from the Black Hills. It became one of our favorite places to stay. The view is amazing, the place was very clean and up-to-date. The staff were reliable and friendly. The tiki bar and marina were beautiful and fun spots to hang out in the evening hours. At some point, the resort was taken over by new management and the place tanked. Everything is dirty, unkempt, and falling apart. The restaurant food is no longer palatable and the staff is careless. What happened to this place?

The lodge and surrounding grounds are nice, but the rooms are showing their age (cracks in the ceiling, broken chairs, etc). Our biggest complaint is that despite hanging the “maid service please” sign on the door and talking with the front desk, our room was never serviced during our stay.
