Residence Gerani

Crete is a big island and the Lassithi region which is 10 min from Agios Nikolaos, a picturesque coastal city, makes for a perfect place to be situated. Despite my initial concerns that the accommodations would be too remote or hard to get to since I really couldn't get a feel for the area using web based maps because there were no pictures showing how the residence was situated to anything. I picked it based on tour book descriptions of the area and the few pics and reviews of the accommodations. We couldn't have found a better place to stay! Plenty of parking if you rent a car, views and vistas to die for, owner and staff that are readily available to help in any way they can, rooms are spacious and contain everything needed (pots, pans, dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine, toaster - a first out of all the places we stayed in Greece), verandas with flowered pergolas (a Greek staple to be sure) and close to all amenities. This was the true gift and surprise of the residence. While we sat perched up in our private secluded accommodations it was as easy as walking down a private, vegetation covered and romantic twisting staircase which included a seating area part way down where a couple or individual could sit to rest or absorb the surrounds and at the exist of the stairs just across the not busy road were 3 individual restaurants (shout out to Askianos Restaurant who provided my 7 person family with a place to eat when all other places were closed) Paralia Ammoudara, public beach with sun beds and umbrellas plus a small "corner" store with basic core essential items. You can spend all your time at the residence and have a fulfilling vacation. However, it is a quick hop to get to other popular beaches and the quaint city of Agios Nikolaos with easy public paid parking at the harbour that let's you explore and shop on foot to more than enough venues including the terminally romantic Basilico Ristorante right on the harbour.

It didn't affect me because I had an eSim (highly recommended) but my wife depended on WiFi and the only place to get reliable access was outside the walls of the rooms on the pergola covered private verandas - not a hard compromise IMHO. Something I would do next time on the large island of Crete would be to spend time in the northern area around Chania by renting a place to stay there. The drive from our residence to Chania and by association Knossos Palace, Balos Beach and Elafonissi Beach took 3 to 4 hours which is too much time in a day on vacation to do and also be able to take in the sites. Easy fix for next time.

Very very beautiful view, big quiet rooms, autenthic greek style, beautiful garden, with trees, cactuses, flowers. The pool is very nice and clean,with a beautiful view over the sea.Kareen very nice and helpful. The Amoudara beach very close ,nice and clean, with showers and toilets. Is there a market and tavernas near, with good food and good prices.

There are no room cleaning services, no beds changing in 7 days, no cleaning products to clean it yourself, even no garbage bags to change it after you take out the garbage yourself. This is the only thing that I should change, in the rest is a dream location for a perfect quiet vacation in Crete.

Pour la deuxième fois ici ,cette fois ci dans un appartement plus petit pour 3 personnes ,l appartement était très bien, confortable ,avec tout ce qu il faut , une belle terrasse avec une magnifique vue sur la mer , très propre , la plage au pieds de la résidence, avec transats et parasols . Karin qui nous accueille est formidable , nous avons adoré notre séjour.

Wir hatten ein tolles Appartement mit zwei Terrassen. Der Blick der Terrasse auf das Meer und jeden Morgen den Sonnenaufgang zu sehen war richtig toll. Das Appartement war groß und geräumig. Die Küche war etwas sporadisch aber hatte trotzdem alles was man gebraucht hat. Das Appartement liegt direkt am Strand auf einer kleinen Erhöhung. Innerhalb 3 Minuten ist man zu Fuß am Strand.

Very interesting area near Agios Nikolaos and the Dikti Mountains. The location in Ammoudara was charming with an excellent beach and taverna/cafes, Genari Residence was a short 2 minute walk from the terrace across a road to the beach. The accommodation was spacious, clean, very Greek and had a great view. The manager, Karin, was accessible, friendly and very helpful.

The kitchen facility was basic but adequate

Tout. Nous avons vraiment adoré ce séjour dans cet appartement calme face à la mer. Très bon accueil et disponibilté du personnel charmant et à l’écoute. Plage à proximité, le lever du soleil, la terrasse, commodités...

Vista spettacolare, appartamento davvero grande e comodo. Si raggiunge a piedi la spiaggia molto bella di Ammoudara con ombrelloni e risotranti ma anche con spazio libero sotto agli alberi.
