Hotel Bodega El Juncal

The hotel is about 15 mins drive from the centre of Ronda and has a vineyard. It was very quiet when we stayed there - didn't really see many other clients. The room was fine - clean and modern. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night as we were too tired to go out. It was just the 2 of us in the entire restaurant and the reception staff was also acting as a waiter. The food was ok - big portions but nothing to shout about. We had a glass of house red and it was average - not too impressed considering it produced its own wine. The pool/ garden area at the back was lovely - although the water in the pool was too cold to swim in, which was a pity. However, it was a place to relax and staff was polite and helpful.

This hotel was convenient to get to the Ronda mountain resort for a wedding we attended. We didn't use the facilities much. Breakfast was very simple. Toast, cereal and pastries. The swimming pool area clime have done with more TLC. Didn't feel relaxed by there due to the amount of wasps in the grass. Wasps seems to be an issue all over Ronda to be honest. The room was decent. The balcony was lovely. The bed was ok- served a purpose. But found the temperature hard to regulate in the room. The reception staff were pleasant. It seemed like there was only one guy running the hotel though.

Das Hotel befindet sich sehr abgeschieden und ist demnach sehr ruhig gelegen. Die Zimmer sind sehr spartanisch eingerichtet, ein Bild an der Wand etc würde da schon helfen, sodass man sich wohler fühlen würde. Pflegeprodukte und Bademantel + Schlappen wurden im Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt. Der Garten könnte gepflegter und einladender sein, der Pool war ebenfalls in keinem guten Zustand und hat nicht wirklich zum Baden eingeladen. In der Hotelbeschreibung auf hotels.com steht "Kostenloses WLAN", jedoch hat das Hotel sich zum Konzept gemacht, dass man während des Aufenthalts entspannen soll und man bei der Ankunft ein Extrablatt erhält, indem geschrieben steht, dass nur in den öffentlichen Bereichen das WLAN funktioniert. Da unser Zimmer im Erdgeschoss und genau neben dem Eingangsbereich war, hat das WLAN trotz allem funktioniert.

The Juncal is 15 minutes away from the Ronda city center. The room was comfortable, large and clean, while the bathroom needed some modern renovating (eg: replace the tub by a shower, water running out of the tub, etc) Little things (like a loose door handle) made it look as it was not completely cared for. The room also had a large patio with views of the gardens and pool area with a small table and chairs. It would have been a great spot to have breakfast. The employees were friendly. As we were the only ones in the hotel (or so it seemed), the employees we saw were at the front desk and in the dinning room serving. We were disappointed that with the hotel being also a winery, that there was no welcome glass of wine or attention; nor was there an offer for wine tasting or any winery related activity. The hotel is presented as a boutique 4* hotel, perhaps under better conditions, it would have been felt. But as we were unable to fully enjoy the site, as the weather was rainy, windy and cold for the area, it seemed a strong claim to make while the price seemed to steep. We could see that the hotel had large gardens, a pool, and a large patio that must be amazing to enjoy in the summer time. In all honesty, we had just spent a fantastic week in another location so our comparison is most probably skewed. But, we would be amenable to give it another try.

There was no wifi in the room though Expedia mention there is . The room was with bad smell . Bath was very uncomfortable and with small towels . Breakfast was very very minimal . The place is not easy to find and it's out of the city though not far .

Located on the outskirts of Ronda this 9 bedroom hotel is in an excellent condition

Since we arrived the service eas great. The room was beautiful and the view was great.

Good location to Ronda, 5 mins drive to the centre of Ronda. Lovely pool area, spacious rooms and very warm welcome. Would definitely recommend for a hotel out from the centre of Ronda.
