Mercure Fribourg Centre Remparts

We were very happy with our stay at Hôtel Aux Remparts in Fribourg. It is a very good value for money. The quality of the bed and the pillows (the most important thing for me) was excellent, with real down pillows. Room was large, clean and quiet, with more than enough space for our luggage; the TV had several English channels.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Our room was spacious and accomodated our family very nicely. The location, just outside the ramparts, is actually very convenient with free parking and easy access. Our only complaint was that it was very hot and there was only one small fan for the entire room. That said, it was a beautiful room.

Fairly small and fancy, somewhat "boutique"-ish hotel in easy walking distance to the heart of Fribourg. Easy to get to by car. we enjoyed a fast and effcient check-in, superb breakfast buffet and an amazingly room facing away from the road. Rooms are nicely decorated and quite comfy, although a bit warm on this hot summer day. There are variuos fees due upon checkin and checkout, but overall a good price performance ratio. Recommended!

We had a nice stay. Checkin was easy and surroundings attractive and easily walkable.

Good hotel in Fribourg. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Decor was inviting. I would only ding them very slightly for having no air conditioning which could be a problem during the warm Swiss summers, but no other hotel in Fribourg has air conditioning either. It has a claim on being the best hotel in town.

Hotel was very well maintained and the room was clean and comfortable. Good range of UK TV channels (not that we went to watch TV!). The reception staff member was particularly helpful. All in all, a good hotel.

Great hotel setting and rooms were of a good standard. We paid for 3 suites, however were only given 1 suite, and two standard rooms - however as of yet the hotel has not responded to three attempts at resolving this issue. The hotel only has very limited parking on the grounds, so you basically need to park on the street. Shame for the lack of response from the hotel, as otherwise it was a good experience.

I picked the hotel based on reviews on hotel.com. When I left I dropped my house keys in the parking lot. When I got home and discovered that I didn't have them, I called the hotel. They had found the keys and put them in the mail immediately. I was very grateful for their attention and consideration.

Meeting family, really comfy room, excellent service, staff very friendly and helpful. If anything rooms a little too warm, but fan was provided.

Very comfortable stay - bed and pillows wonderful and there are quite a few English-speaking channels - all of the BBC and ITV stations. The parking is FREE - the only free thing in this VERY expensive country.
