Season Palace Huahin Hotel

I booked the hotel on Agoda it was advertised as a city centre hotel. When i arrived in Hua Hin the taxis at first did not know of it eventually i got 1 for 250 baht it was a 15 min drive out of town past the airport. The advertise a shuttle bus but will not pick you up unless checked in. On arrival they did not have a record of my booking. even when i shed them it they were rude and after 30 mins tried to give me a twin room when i booked a double. Eventually a friendlier member of staff who spoke English arrived and i was given a better room. Most of the staff were pleasant but the reception on arrival were poor. The hotel is about 9 miles out of town with no apparent transport amenities or shops nearby. This made it more frustrating when the restaurant only opened at breakfast and afternoon so not possible to get a coffee or something to eat. Because the hotel is so far away i had to hire a motorbike so anyone booking should take into account the need for transport. The swimming pool was nice with a good kids pool but decking around was old wooden planking you could nip your feet in. This is definitely not a city centre hotel as advertised and caused an unhappy feeling to the start of the holiday. Checked out and moved to a city centre guest house that better suited our needs for less.

Located 15 minutes out of Hua Hin, the Season Palace is a nice and relatively cheap hotel. It has a great breakfast, bacon, eggs, sausage, ham, salad. The hotel is a distance out of town but offers a free shuttle into town until 6 pm. Getting back requires a taxi which is not overly pricey. We chose this location because it was near our friends house so it was convenient for us. The staff speak decent English and try and help as much as possible. The location is very close to the highway and train, which will sound like an earthquake the first time, but only goes past every few hours. Room was decent and clean, toilet needs renovation but was ok.
