Lüderitz Nest Hotel

Lüderitz est une ville étonnante, surprenante. Si avant d'arriver on voit la ville fantôme de Kolmanskop qui mérite d'être visitée pour son passé diamantifère, débarquer un dimanche à Lüderitz est tout aussi fantomatique : la ville est vide, pas un chat dans les rues ! On a le temps d'admirer les maisons anciennes coloniales, découvrir les environs et préparer ses visites. Inutile de penser visiter Elisabeth Bay deuxième ville fantôme, il faut un permis qui demande 5 jours pour l'obtenir, et seulement un tour opérateur qui le fait... Le lieu est curieux, tout est compliqué, mais cela en vaut la peine. L'hôtel est sympa, sur la mer, simple mais élégant, on est bercé par les vagues et le vent. L'accueil est chaleureux, le bar est sympathique et le restaurant est fabuleux si on aime le poisson et les huîtres ou encore le homard ! Un régal, et pour finir un détour au sauna permet de se relaxer quand la piscine est trop froide.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant at the Nest Hotel Luderitz... They went out of their way to assist with a tricky sightseeing issue as we arrived needing help on a Sunday when everything was closed. Service generally too was good. The room and hotel is a little dated. The food served at the two restaurants was not brilliant despite having the reputation as offering the best in Luderitz.

The hotel offers unsurpassable sea views and the rooms were decent although perhaps slightly outdated. Check in was quick and the staff friendly. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and on all occasions, the food was really good although the service was quite bad. It almost seemed like they were understaffed, with us having to wait long periods for plates to be cleared or for coffee to be brought to our table. We also had to get up and ask to be served, on several occasions. Despite the negatives, this is definitely still the best hotel in Luderitz and I would go there again, even if it is just for the sea views out of the room.

Unser Aufenthalt dauerte zwar nur 1 Nacht, aber wir waren voll zufrieden. Die Lage ist toll, das Zimmer entsprach genau unseren Vorstellungen. Das Essen abends im Restaurant war hervorragend l-die Fischgerichte sind absolut zu empfehlen.

Freundlicher Empfang, angenehmes Ambiente. Sehr sauberes Zimmer und Bad. Prima Ausblick direkt aufs Meer. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet mit dunklem Brot und frischen Omelett, sogar mit Sekt.

The balcony of room is inches away from the rocks and ocean. We saw birds feeding and floating on waves. The room was not large but clean and comfortable. We did not eat in restaurant but included breakfast was delucious and comprehensive.

We where received by friendly and helpful Staff.The Porter was excellent and helped us with our baggage. We had a room on the first floor, close to the sea. The Room was well equipped and clean.Room service was very good and prompt.

Very nice facilitites, varied buffet breakfast, helpful receptionists.
