Leo, super host!

Absolutely stunning place. 173 steep stone steps up the hill, you reach this hidden gem in the middle of the Ligurian mountains. From morning till night, all you want to do is gaze over the mountains, and you will never wish to be anywhere else. Leo is the perfect host and then a little more. Very helpful and extremely kind, and in addition to this, he is a great cook🍋 We were lucky to get a chance to participate in his wonderful dinner. Thank you! Every morning he serves a luxurious breakfast on the terrasse, we felt very spoiled💕 In less than half an hour, you reach the Mediterranean and can jump into the beautiful turquoise water from eg. Chiavara, Sestri Levante, or anywhere else. A must is to visit Portofino, either by car, bus, or boat, departing from several harbors along the coast. Charming villages everywhere, but the best part of going to the coast is to return to the mountains and climb the 173 steps to your calm and lovely place ⛰️. Down the hill, there is a wonderful restaurant, Ca' di Prei, with local dishes, and a bit further down is the Michelin trattoria La Brinca. Make sure to book your table well in advance!🍝 We loved the car ride up the steep and narrow roads, and we learned to appreciate the steps from the parking lot to Farmhouse Castagnola 64. By the way, make sure to bring home a bottle or two of Leo and Lu's own olive oil 🫒

Perfect place to stay with family. The owner is very nice. He helped us with the languages and prepared very delicious dinner.

I highly recommend getting to the place when it's still bright outside as it is really high in the mountains. Be prepared for a walk to the villa through the vineyards by stone steps. People who own the place live there and they are nice. They met us in the late evening, warmed up food for us, and served the table. In the morning, we had breakfast on a terrace with a perfect view.

It's hot in the rooms and they have only fans to cool it down.

Everything is amazing

Very special location for a very special journey. A quite atypical place, lost in the mountain for a journey very relaxing. People managning the welcome are pretty sympathic. Breakfast is great in this context. Great place to avoid the rush after a day visiting the cost.
