"Nice Riad near by the chaotic Medina."

8.0

The riad is nice and the staff very helpful and friendly. They make you feel safe despite of the chaotic Marrakech. I would recommend this place just to young / student people, as the place doesn't look as the safest of Marrakech (there is police everywhere though) and it is a very dark area in the night.

"Excellent"

8.0

Good service and rooms are clean and good breakfast. The only downside is the location. It's in alley where taxi cant get to and it's quite a walk with luggage and not so bad without... overall I would stay there again when in Marrakesh..

"Great Riad"

10.0

We loved our stay at the Riad Sidi Mimoune. The staff were lovely and very helpful, our room was clean and a good size. We don't enjoy air-conditioning so we requested a fan and were given a large silver thing that made the rest of our sleeps very pleasant. We chose to go half board, the food was simple and traditional and took the hassle out of searching for food in the evenings.

"Old-Fashioned House-Style Hotel"

8.0

We stayed at this hotel for a week. Initially we were a bit surprised, since it was unexpectedly different from a typical hotel, in that it was styled more like an old Moroccan house. There is also a long alley from the main road leading to the hotel; we had to drag a lot of luggage down the alleys and up the stairs at the hotel, since there is no elevator (although there is only one flight of stairs, not a lot). There was no phone or television in the room, but there was a small, sunny nook in the hallway, and the terrace was easily accessible and pleasant to visit.

"Convenient location, authentic Moroccan experience"

10.0

When we arrived via taxi, we needed to walk to riad via several narrow streets. When we got out of the taxi, a couple Moroccan men asked us where we're staying and that they'd help us get there. DO NOT ACCEPT THEIR OFFER TO HELP. They will demand a lot of money once they arrive at the riad with you because they 'helped you out' and will not leave until you have given them money. We declined them because we were warned of this in advance but we saw other customers staying at our riad being harassed by these guys and were forced to hand over money. They served typical Moroccan breakfast (bread, Moroccan pancakes or bread, jam, honey, yoghurt and orange juice) which was nice as we were looking fora true authentic Moroccan experience. In terms of location, it was perfect. It was on a narrow street with lots of riads and was situated near the main attractions and locations in Marrakesh. The staff at the riad booked the excursions on our behalf and they were definitely worth it! The staff even brought us to the location the minivans picked us up so we get on the minivan. Overall, the riad was great and positively contributed to our holiday in Marrakesh.

"More like your dads house"

4.0

The hotel is situated in a village in the old city. Taxis cant get to your hotel and have to stop at the end of this maze of a alleyway way thtough houses where people constantly approach u to help and ask for money. We arrived at night and when we arrived at the end of the alleyway we were told by the cab driver he couldnt go any further as they alley was too narrow as it was. He let this guy in his 20's guide us through these alleys in the dark where you would think u might get mugged. We got to the hotel and got our room. The pool in the hotel is more like a pond. When we wanted to go out at night the manager asked what time we will be back and stated he will be sleeping and there will be nobody to open the door. Within minutes I was online looking for a new hotel. Eventually found a hotel named ourika camp hotel based some km out of the city with a large room and large pool. Amazing friendly staff and the owners were a husband and wife from canada and there hosting was second to none. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone who doesnt want to get mugged in some dark alleyway.

"Great location, lovely Riad"

10.0

Riad is really well situated and easy to find once you know where it is. Definitely book a car (email before leaving) as without doing so it is unlikely you'll be able to locate the riad as it is (like all others) in an ally and not a road. Breakfast was tasty and very filling. Room was clean and very nicely decorated. Sound travels in the riad as take ear plugs just in case--noise wasn't a problem when we stayed there though. There is a lovely terrace with plenty of chairs which overlooks the main mosque. Overall a lovely place to stay.

"Regular Riad"

8.0

The location of the Riad was okay. Its fairly central. It is situated in an alley, in which a car can not drive down, so you do have to carry your bags to the riad a good 50 meters. There are also small kids that try to charge you money to show you the way to your Riad. The kids are out at all times of night as well. However, they are harmless. The hotel room and communal space was relatively clean. The hotel was undergoing some renovations, however, it did not cause us any mishap. The bed was hard (however some people prefer that ). There were three receptionist at the hotel during our stay, only one spoke great English. The Riad was a great deal for the rate we paid, but nothing spectacular.

"Interesting & unusual"

8.0

Get a transfer here as alleyways you WILL NOT be able to find your way round at first - but ok on the second day. Don't be intimidated as pretty safe even though appears not so initially. Just nice to be in with the real people of the town and see how they live. This Riad is really strange but a very interesting place to stay for a short break. Longer may get a little oppressive as quite dark and only a terrace for natural light or to be outside at all. All a bit' Heath Robinson' how the place is fitted out but this is an old fashioned community that have little money or access to our Westernised infrastructure, fittings and fixtures so they make things up as they go along. You have to make excuses here and there but this is a charming place for those of us who like things a bit away from the norm. If you like all Hotel style 'tickity boo' then don't go here.
