Superb location next to the railway station. Only 40 mins on the train from Zurich airport and only 20 mins from St Gallen. The open air swimming complex in the town is lovely.

Uzwil is very quiet. That was not a problem and the town is very clean and peaceful.

Being the first time at the hotel I was curious how this 4* Hotel might be. The first impression – very friendly and helpful. I’d booked a classic room and was more than happy that the AC was running – we had high temperatures outside… The hotel is situated right at the train station but thanks to the very good, isolated window I haven’t heard any noises from the trains. Complimentary mineral water and a Mini Bar with a small selection of soft drinks and beer I’ve appreciated the “grab and go” offer in the Reception area – fresh fruits and a Coffee machine for coffee and tea. The Breakfast Buffet was a bit disappointing I’ve expected more than a basic Continental. Fried eggs, lightly burned, no bacon, no sausages, no offer to prepare bacon or sausages – out of my view this should be mentioned. Boiled eggs – were lukewarm, but OK. I liked the fresh bread. The selection of cheese and cold cuts was fine as well as the smoked salmon. All in all this is a good place to stay and explore the region
