Gakuto Villas

The villa is spacious, quite and have all the utilities at our disposal. We like the individually controlled underfloor heating, the ski gears can be easily stored at the entrance. The location can not be better, the shuttle bus stop is right next to the villa entrance and a number of restaurants and cafe are nearby. The Sakka Chair Lift and ski gear rental company is about seven hundred meters away from the villa. The host started contacting as soon as the booking was made, the guidebook sent beforehand was comprehensived and practical，There was a discount in purchasing ski pass as Gakuto s a member of the Happono hotel alliance. We had a problem with the car since the tie chains failed. The host responded very quickly to help us to find the store to purchase the new tire chain. The villa driver sent us and the luggage to my car, and helped making arrangement with the car park owner to move my car to a safe location.He was so friendly and helpful that I cannot thank him enough. It was an pleasant experience with Gakuto and would love to return in the future.

The room had heated floors, very nice bathrooms, and great views. Multiple rental shops are within walking distance. Happo One ski lifts are only a few minutes away via the free shuttle (also walkable, but safer via shuttle during the winter months).

Parking was not allowed at the unit during the winter months for falling snow safety (not a complaint, just a completely understandable inconvenience). There is a parking lot across the street from the units for winter parking.

Great, comfortable, and clean villa. The radiant floor heating was super cozy and warm. The rooms were spacious and nice. All the comforts of home. We stayed in villa 11 and was very lucky to see a group of monkeys climb the tree in front of our window, eating all the branches.

The villa was perfect, although the transportation around Hakuba could be better. The shuttles only run every hour or so at best so you really have to plan out the day.

We had a very short two night stay but it was perfect! I would definitely recommend staying here. The communication was excellent!

Nothing notable except we could see into the neighboring units stairwell. But we didn’t see anyone often as we were busy the two days we were there.
