Hotel Emas Tawau

Very friendly and helpful staff. Not so nice area but only a 10-15 minute walk to the city so it felt quite ok!

It's a dated hotel but they were able to arrange the best cocoa tour to their plantation, factory and museum. Very nice and informative. The meals they served were good enough. I love the tour very much and captured many photos. If you prefer a spacious room, do pay a bit more for the rooms at the top floor. This trip we made due to my younger cousin sister's wedding and they arranged well for a few days usage of the hall and the catering of food and drinks. They even did some red good fortune decoration. The staffs were very friendly and always ready to assist us if we needed their help to organize and get things ready for the hair-combing-ceremony and get-the-bride-session. There were about 20 of us and it was great that I was able to use the computer plus printer to web check-in out return flight to KL. We stayed two nights then headed to Kampalai Island for a 3D2N holiday.

Parhaat päivänsä nähnyt hotelli, hinta laatu suhde tyydyttävä. Suttuinen yleisvaikutelma. Aika keskeinen sijainti, mutta ensi kerralla valitsisin toisen hotellin. Tosin ensi kerralla yöpyisin Sempornassa (Air Asian kentältä 30km Tawauhun ja 80km Sempornaan, joten yöpymällä Tawaussa taksimatka kasvaa 60km).

We stayed here for two nights, the hotel is pretty old and needs refurbishments made but the amount of time we spent there it was fine. The food was OK and the staff we quite friendly. The reason we booked this hotel was to do the Cocoa Tour (which is owned by the same parent company as the hotel). The tour takes you to the plantation, the factory and then onto the museum and includes a fantastic lunch. The guide was helpful and explained the whole chocolate making process. We would highly recommend this tour if you have a spare day in Tawau.

Hotel Emas is definately an older hotel, however our room was spotless and comfy. The staff were the most helpful we had encountered on our trip and although it is about a10min walk from most other hotels, we felt safe walking the streets and there were a fair few eating locations near-by.

I like this hotel. Just nice, cosy and clean. Staff also quite friendly and food is good. I like this hotel and will recommended to everyone who came to Tawau for a night or two. Value for money.

Have been staying at Emas Hotel, Tawau for many years now & their service, cleanliness of the rooms & quality of breakfast is still the same - without any complaints.

I stayed in deluxe room for a night. The hotel building is a bit old, the lobby, reception and receptionist is nice, the room a bit small, with furniture worn out but you're provided with all room necessities and bathroom also had bathtub. The cleanliness is average, but looks a bit gloomy due to 'old-age'. View from room is nice - sea and part of old Tawau town. Overall, for a price offered, it is cheap but you get 'cosy old-age 3-star hotel'.

The hotel looks ok, though it is a bit old, but the management did try to keep the standard on par. The room, bathroom and sheets are clean. But the fridge is quite filthy with stains and smell. TV channel selection is very limited, only comes with local programs and sports channel. Hotel surrounding has got nothing much to offer, it is situated in the old Tawau town. The staff are polite and helpful.
