Hotel Schloss Mittersill

Everything, the staff ( all of them, the reception employees, and the reception employee that made us the tour in the castle with patience and knowledge, the breakfast staff that was welcoming and more then nice ). The location that felt like a dream. The pictures doesn’t do justice to the place.

Die wunderschöne Sicht auf die Berge vom Pool aus. Das großzügige Zimmer. Die Schönen Räumlichkeiten. Der schöne Innenhof, der schöne Garten: Das gute Essen.

Slapen in een kasteel wie wil dat nou niet. Bijzondere plek ook want prachtig uitzicht op de bergen. Goede parkeer mogelijkheden. Ontbijt simpel voor dit type hotel. Diner was lekker eten maar je wordt verplicht een bepaald menu te nemen terwijl a la carte mogelijk moet zijn, erg flauw. Zo moet je meer eten dan je wilt en dus ook twee keer zoveel betalen.

Je gaat in een kasteel slapen en verwacht dan een kasteelkamer. Een nacht kasteelheer zijn, daar had ik het hele jaar voor gespaard, maar ik kreeg een kamer in de kelder waar ook het personeel slaapt. Ik was zo enorm teleurgesteld. Als het hotel vol had gezeten en dit was de laatste kamer, prima. Maar het hele hotel was zga leeg, er waren maar 6 gasten.

The water in the pool was cold and not pleasant to swim in. And the jacuzzi didn't work. There aren't enough electrical outlets in convenient places. The lighting by the bed is weak and doesn't allow for reading books. There was no extra key to the room.

We had a wonderful experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms and ambiance in general very relaxing. Although it is an old castle it has modern comforts. The breakfasts and dinner menu are very appealing to the eye and tongue and wholesome with local produce. And finally the views of the valley and mountains are incredible.

We had to go home......but we have already booked to come back !!

Historic castle in commanding setting. quality modernisation but retaining the feel of the castle.
