Hôtel du Lion d'Or

I had a last minute stay as I got ahead of plan on the GR10, and I'm so glad I did. The hotel is lovely, located very close to the town centre and with good facilities. While traditional in decor, the room had everything I needed, and the bed was particularly comfortable. I was immediately made to feel welcome despite arriving dishevelled after a long day hiking. The breakfast was excellent. All in all, I thoroughly recommend the Lion d'Or.

A lovely quaint hotel in the middle of Cauterets, just a few minutes walk from a variety of eateries. The hotel has lots of traditional character, but has also been updated to provide modern in-room services such as coffee pod machines, refrigerators and good, powerful showers. The only downside is the lack of dedicated parking, but that applies equally to almost all hotels in the centre of Cauterets. There is however ample free parking a short walk from the hotel, to which you can move your car after dropping your luggage at the hotel door.

Lovely hotel. Very welcoming. In a quiet street in the middle of town. Comfortable and clean. Would recommend.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff and very nice breakfast, our room was very big. Had an exceptionally nice cocktail in the little courtyard garden. Day trip to Pont de L'Espagne and Lac du Gaube was also very scenic. Didn't try the evening meal (set menu, pre-booking only).

Be aware there is no parking there, although can usually park on the street not too far away. Also not many restaurants open in Cauterets on a Monday/Tuesday.

Amazing old friendly family run hotel. Nice room, good breakfast and evening meal. Lovely staff. Very clean. Good value. Easy free parking behind hotel

Hotel a recommander

Personnes accueillantes. Chambre confortable et joliment décorée avec goût. Tout est prévu dans la salle de bain (peignoirs, chaussons, brosses à dents...) digne d un 4*. Propreté irréprochable. Rien à redire si ce n'est... merci !!!
