Beds were very comfortable and we both slept very well. There was no outside (or inside) noise despite the hotel being in the centre of town. The location was excellent for a stroll around the lovely town of Moffat. We loved the staff, a really friendly welcome, the barman was very informative about whisky and the breakfast waitress was lovely. An excellent stopover if you are travelling on the M74 or as a centre for the borders.

Our room was too small and on of the twin beds was extremely uncomfortable as it had a hard ridge due to broken spring(s).Consequently I suffered a very poor nights sleep.The sink had no plug and the vanity light didn’t work.

We always get a fabulous warm welcome here. Dinner never disappoints. If you can get a room to yourself, do so. We had a twin this time and it was a bit ‘cosy’ for two people with our motorcycle kit. The room was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of hot water.

No off street secure motorcycle parking, albeit you can generally park on the street close by.

Cooked breakfast was unavailable unfortunately so we had to go out and find food as continental was not our start to the day. Had such excellent feedback that we were disappointed although we understood reason why . Hygiene standards were excellent and staff very pleasant
