Galaxy minyoun Chengdu Hotel

This hotel was described by a local as a Chinese five star property. Our room was in excellent condition, king size bed, large sitting area, and very nice bathroom. many nice touches, such as the choice of five types of pillow, and both light and heavier weight bathrobes. Riverside rooms have a good view of the city at night. There were limited English speaking staff, but always someone at the front desk who could help out. Very positive attitude by all staff. A extensive breakfast buffet, but only one breakfast included in the room rate.

A very comfortable hotel with good beds to get that well earned sleep however the rooms could do with a bit of TLC but other than that a very pleasant stay. Centrally located close to the river and tianfu square are all walking distance. Customer service is good and staff are very helpful. Anna Babajanyan the guest relations officer was especially helpful, giving advice and helping with the language barrier if you ever need anything then just ask for Anna. Breakfast buffet is nice and a full range of Western and Asian style breakfast

The hotel is centrally located. It can, however, be a little troublesome to find a taxi. The rooms are not bad at all, and the room service did a good job maintaining the room. The only major issue I found with the hotel was that only the front desk understood English. I could not order in-room dining at all for this reason! Even the staff at the restaurant on the ground floor had trouble with English. If you have no Mandarin speaking skills, you may struggle.

This is a local hotel of great value in Chengdu. The hotel lobby is located on the 29 floor which has a beautiful view of the surroundings. Room is a good size and clean. Do expect to be in the company of locals if you stay here. English is limited to certain staffs only.
