Hotel & Residence Matarese

Marianna’s kindness is out of this world. She makes you feel completely at home with countless attentions, recommendations and tips. The hotel is also cute and very convenient in a beautiful environment.

Hotel Materese is located in Casamicciola, an excellent choice for visiting the wonderful island of Ischia, which is very central, with many restaurants, shops, beautiful beaches and other services. It is well served by public transport, taxis and has its own port. It is also a good place to stay as it is both peaceful and lively. The hotel itself is cute, has a wonderful garden with many beautiful plants and fruit trees (kiwi, lemon, orange, tangerines, peppers, fig tree, grapes... It also has its own restaurant where you can taste homemade dishes for breakfast (included) and dinner (optional). My room was located in the garden, so it was very quiet and intimate, with a very nice view of the sea. It was very large, comfortable, clean and well equipped. But above all, you absolutely have to stay at Hotel Materese because of Marianna and her family. They will do everything to make you feel unique and at home. Even before my arrival, she sent me tips to come easily. As I had to arrive in the morning before check-in time, she prepared the room early for me and welcomed me with good coffee and organic grapes from the garden (which is very precious after a long trip). She took the time to explain everything to me about the island, gave me lots of valuable advice (restaurants, activities...). It was not my first time in Ischia, but thanks to Marianna this time I was able to discover it very well and enjoy all the treasures of the island. She was also very caring with me and concerned about the smooth running of my stay (booking me activities, bringing me an umbrella when it was raining, preparing breakfast especially for me when it was already over...) . Thank you very much Marianna for everything, and I hope to be back soon!

The hotel is really charming with a beautiful green backyard and everything is super clean. Mariana really helped us with giving information about the island like where to eat, what to visit, where the best beaches are etc. It was really nice that you can count on her help when needed 😊 rest of the staff was also really friendly 😊 The breakfast is great with excellent coffee, the offer is more sweet than savory. I would definetively recommend!

A family owned hotel. Impeccably maintained with beautiful gardens and loads of fruit trees that are immaculately cared for. Mariana welcomed us with such warmth and was extremely helpful. Mariana went far and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and very helpful with any reservations we needed or questions we had. Francesca her sister is the chef at the hotel and will definitely treat you with delicious homemade meals that will surely tantalize your taste buds. Let's not forget their mom and dad who keep the garden grounds breath taking with beautiful flowers and fruit trees. Honestly, if we can rate this hotel and our experience a 12 on 10 we most definitely would. They made us feel like part of their family. We had a wonderful break staying at the hotel. Marianna and her family offer their guests a very special experience. The hotel grounds are beautiful. The breakfast is excellent - including delicious fruit from the garden, and they even offer an evening meal which we enjoyed. Marianna was so helpful and gave us great recommendations throughout our stay. We can’t wait to return!

Having to leave :(

This was our best accomodation in the past few years. The owner and the other staff are really nice people. We felt like home for these few days. The owner is a really nice, welcoming and caring person. The garden is like a little oasis. If we did not want to go to the center we could chill at the terrace in the garden with a nice view to the sea and the city. Breakfast was fresh really as it was written straight from the garden. The pies and home made cookies were delicious. The coffee also very good of course :) We discovered the island walked a lot but got really good tips from Marianne. She was always ready to help with any kind of questions we had. We are highly recommend this place :)

Breve nella struttura , ma soddisfatta , camere pulite ordinate

beh a parte la salita, che bisogna fare per arrivare all'albergo , per il resto è tutto ok. Molto gentili i proprietari , clima amichevole , pulizia e ricca colazione, pranzo soddisfacente, rapporto qualità prezzo buono.

Hôtel propre mais accueil froid. On a l'impression de venir déranger une famille qui nous fait sentir qu'il s'agit de leur demeure plutôt qu'un hôtel excepté la grande soeur qui était aimable. Pas de lit double mais 2 lits simples collés, propreté ok, pas de minifrigo dans la chambre, pas de possibilité d'avoir des boissons en journée. Centre ville et mer à 300m mais il faut remonter une grande côte pour revenir à l'hôtel. Pas du tout pratique, aucun resto à proximité de l'hôtel. Pas pratique avec des enfants ou un bébé s'il faut faire des aller-retours. Il y a un jardin mais il est infesté de moustiques.
