XIV Century Rooms

Great communication from owner. Full of character and charm. Little details had been thought about. Kettle and coffee was welcome in the morning. Sea view from the window. Late check in.

Check in with the lock box was helpful when our flight arrived late but the explanation of how to gain entry was a little confusing. Church Bells at 6.30am disturbed our sleep

Our last minute booking of XIV century rooms was in a super location for being nearer to the airport for our midday flight the following day, and was excellent value for money. Instead of getting up for a 5.30am ferry back to the mainland for our flight, we decided to come back the day before and spend the night in the lovely little coastal town of Kastela Novi. The location of Kastela Novi was perfect for us, providing the historical Croatian charm of gorgeous buildings and alleys, the sea and plenty of traditional eating options within a 2 minute walking radius (the restaurant on-site is closed on Mondays, which happened to be the night we stayed). We had originally planned to hop on the local 37 bus to the airport in the morning, but with only a small daysack each, and our walking shoes on, we walked the 45 minutes along the coast to the airport the next morning. Our room at XIV Century was clean and great for our 1 night stay. Entry if via a key safe on the terrace. It was a little cooler in our room, but we found a single duvet in the wardrobe, which we draped across us both.

Loved the location across the street from the water. Close to a pedestrian zone with lots of dining options, including their co-located Konoba Dominik on the ground floor. The owners were very communicative and had detailed information for everything I needed before even asking. The room was very clean and nicely appointed, with a good sized bathroom. We actually rented 2 different rooms, the top floor comfort room and the 3rd floor standard room. Both were excellent.

It's impossible for a town built in the 1300s to have on-site private parking, so if you're driving, understand that you're going to have to find a spot somewhere and pay for it most likely. That's not the property owners' fault but do be aware.

Location: proximity to the airport, and nearby places to eat breakfast. Bed: cozy Room: necessary amenities were supplied. We didn't need much as we just need a place to sleep in between midnight until checkout time.
