Hotel Sa Cheya Relais & Spa

Although a little out of Alghero, the hotel has everything to make your stay very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and the restaurant on the grounds was excellent.

We stayed here as a couple in mid July for a couple of nights before catching the flight home from Alghero Airport. For this reason, we found the location to be ideal. A little bit out of town adjacent to a fairly busy but generally unobtrusive, main road. The hotel is fairly new and quite attractive. Staff are friendly and most speak excellent English (and Spanish!). The room that we were given however, was not the best. We were on the ground floor facing the small hotel car park which was surprisingly busy early evening and meant that sitting outside on the small terrace, customers were often passing by (and sometimes through) your terrace! The room was nice although smaller than most other rooms and is probably only used as a last resort when the hotel is fully booked (Room 4). The breakfast room is quite small and personal with a few outside tables on a front and rear terrace. The food was always fresh and nicely presented and offered a good choice. Staff at breakfast were also very friendly and could not do enough to ensure that you had a pleasant stay. We would definitely return here again but would ensure we had a room overlooking the gardens next time!

This is a brand new hotel, and is very impressive. Great facilities and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. (restaurant not yet open as of end of April 2013) Bedrooms very big and great patio area.

The hotel is in a nice land. Very close to the down of Alghero about 10 minute drive.

We stayed at Hotel Sa Cheya on its opening weekend which happened to be Easter weekend. We couldn't believe how cheap the price was on hotels.com and when we arrived the place was exactly how it looks in the photos, just lovely. It's a very short drive from the town centre to so very convenient. However we soon noticed that the rooms were incredibly cold and the heating was not working properly. In addition the water temperature was luke-warm at best. After the first night we mentioned the problems to the front desk and they explained it was all connected, they were having problems, having had just opened. We weren't too concerned until the second morning. My friend was leaving and had requested a wake-up call as with the daylight savings changes and lack of cell phone reception she wanted to make sure she woke up in time for her flight. The call never came which I find unacceptable. In addition there was now no hot water at all - the shower was freezing. On the last day the heaters in the room started working but the water temperature was only back to luke-warm. As we paid such a low price for the stay I have given an average rating but if we had paid more standard rates for the area it would have been unsatisfactory rating. I asked to speak to the manager but was told he wasn't available and the staff didn't seem to care about the problems we had had to put up with. Would not stay here again unless I was assured the problems had been fixed.

The hotel consists of 20 rooms and is situated 5km (15 euros each way ) from alghero. Its isolated And reminded me of a premier travel inn. There is an outside pool and restaurant which is small and mainly for the breakfasts. It also doubled up as the bar. The hotel opened 3 days prior to our arrival, staff were excellent, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The customer care deserves recognition. The rooms are good for an overnight stay but I wouldn't stay more than a couple of nights. No kettle in room. Only shower no bath. Our safe had no battery, heating didn't work but these are teething troubles associated with a new hotel. The breakfast included was good and they had gone to a lot of effort. Proper coffee from a machine And excellent quality. They deserve 10/10 for effort.
