Hilltop Cabins and Motel

After a long drive we arrived. The dark-haired desk clerk told us we did not have a reservation. We told her we had our confirmation, and she told us the room was double-booked and the prior reservation booked a year ago. She then proceeded to tell us she emailed us. After we told her we had our Orbitz confirmation number and told her the room we were supposed to stay in she said they did not book through Orbiz, only Expedia, and then proceeded to tell us she didn't have our email, after already telling us she had tried to notify us, which was obviously a lie. All she said was "sorry" and did not offer to help us find another location to stay at or anything. She barely looked at us in the face. It is our opinion they got a higher cost for the cabin, which is why they could care less about our reservation, which was booked several months before our trip. I would not recommend this place based on this kind of customer service to ANYONE!

Breakfast, while offered, was sparse. No orange juice because it is too expensive.

We stayed in one of the rooms. It was very nice and plenty of room for two people.

If you're traveling Michigan's Upper Peninsula visiting the Tahquamenon Falls in Paradise Mi, the Log Slide in Grand Marais, then an overnight or 2 is perfect at the Hilltop Motel/Cabins. The view is wonderful of Lake Superior. The setting is charming. The proprietor wants your stay to be perfect too. The rooms are clean & comfortable. You can enjoy sitting on the deck at sunset with a glass of wine or in the am with a hot cup of coffee! You're close to town for a meal & not even 1 hour to Munising to see the amazing Pictured Rocks. You won't be sorry. You'll experience the feel of the Great Up North!

Beautiful view from hilltop. Adorable, clean cabin. Friendly staff. Close to the enterance of Pictured Rocks National Park. Highly recommend staying there.

We stayed the wolf and it was extremely clean and Cozy. I Loved that it was rustic & comfortable. The only complaint I have is that we tried to call the office several times the day we were scheduled to arrive and was unable to make contact with anyone until much later in the evening. We were going to be arriving late and wanted to be sure we would still have our room. We ended up cutting our plans short because of it. We later found out that we could have arrived later without a problem but it would have been nice to know that upfront. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

A very pleasant stay. The property is perched on a hill overlooking the blue waters of Lake Superior. The rooms, separate from the reception, while on the older side and lacking in much Devore, we're perfectly clean and comfortable. For the price, one could not expect more. On the down side, We were most disappointed with the lack of hospitality. We felt that we were only an interference in the owner's business. Our confirmation indicated that a continental breakfast was included in the room cost. At check-in we requested breakfast 15 minutes early due The need to arrive on time for our boat cruise. The owner appeared accommodating. Unfortunately the next morning she did not honor her commitment. Breakfast was laughable and her response was unacceptable. The few unappealing pastry goods and sour milk we're obviously from the day before. When asked for juice her response was ' i'm leaving today and didn't want to buy anything." Wrong response! Our contract sure – assured us of a continental breakfast; we paid for a continental breakfast. We were obviously short changed.
