Hotel Lodos

Pool was not working. The staff was very pleasant as well allowed us early check in which was very appreciated.

We loved our stay at this hotel! The room had a balcony where you could see the water, the staff was friendly, and the location was excellent. Not right in the heart of Thira, but a 15 minute walk to it. There were bakeries and restaurants right outside the hotel, one of them was even open 24 hours. This stay had everything we could have needed! Nothing fancy, but perfect for a few days. Would definitely recommend

The service staff was excellent, staying past his working hours to accommodate our midnight check-in. He was also prompt to answer all of our queries prior to the trip. Room condition was ok, the shower area was small and the shower curtain was not sufficient in keeping the shower water within the shower area, resulting in the entire toilet being wet. No breakfast was served, however there is one excellent bakery nearby, just across the hotel. There is a bus stop right outside the bakery (bus towards airport, 10min). The main Fira bus terminal is about 15min walk away from the hotel.

Staff were very friendly. Bed was quite hard. Shower was tiny and was only a hand shower, so you have to hold it the whole time. Whole bathroom was wet by the time I was done!

My budget didn’t allow for a hotel in Fira or Oia, so this was a perfect budget option in easy walking distance from the town centre and bus station. The rooms are looking a little dated, but is perfectly clean, safe and easy to get to. There is a supermarket and bakery at the end of the street, and a bus stop right outside to take you to the airport or docks (or anywhere else south on the island). The staff were helpful, each room has it’s own balcony (mine did look out onto the car park - but you could see the sea, so a great spot for breakfast before going out for the day). Only a couple of minor annoyances - the shower is hand held, which after a day of hiking in the sunshine can be a little frustrating, especially as it often means the bathroom gets wet. - There is a small kitchen area, but no utensils. I didn’t want to cook, but it would have been great to have a mug for tea (there was a kettle), and a spoon etc for breakfast. - The key is needed to put in the slot for electricity (which is great, as it means the key isn’t lost!), but as you have to lock the door from the inside - it isn’t so easy in the dark! These couple of minor things would not stop me from returning or recommending- but they are small, inexpensive changes that could be made to make a nicer experience. Would totally recommend as a budget option on an expensive island.

Great location close to Thira. Rental vehicles are available through the hotel giving you access to the whole island.

Our stay was excellent the staff was very kind and patient (especially Roussa). The only problem we had was with the shower, everything else was great!

The staff were friendly. The room was large in comparison to other hotels and there is a nice size pool. We had a kitchen cabinet, small refrigerator and sink but it was old and discolored. The rooms are in serious need of upgrading. The cabinets and drawers were lined with old paper and smelled of mildew. The shower wand holder was broken, one of the over-the-bed light fixtures was broken, and the shower curtain rod was broken. The kitchen was closed and no food was available on site.

If you're on a budget the hotel is okay. We had issues with our toilet not flushing/using excess water. We also had an issue where our patio door (first floor) did not lock fully. The air conditioner was also not fully operational and the room got really hot at night. Another issue, the key is also the electricity and how you lock the door when you get into your room. So you somehow need to get in the room, lock the door in the pitch black then but the key in the slot for electricity. Makes no sense! Pool is really nice but the lounge chairs are extremely extremely dirty and leave you dirty when you get up.
