Azuluna Eco-Lodge

The breakfast was good. But it took a very long time to prepare. The rooms were probably nice 10 years ago.

Honestly, it was incredibly disappointing. The property is gravely misrepresented online. It it is run down, old, and broken down. As a family with children, there were broken railings and holes in the railings. It was scary. The rooms were filled with mildew and smelled really musty. It was hard to sleep at night with the smell. The furniture was dilapidated & figures had raw wires or bulbs exposed. It used to be nice one day but has not been maintained. There needs to be serious mold mitigation with the strength of the smell. The lighting was not sufficient for safety at night & we had to find the walkway light on our own. There was a lack of service mentality. The check-in staff was not there when we showed up, and the Reception was locked up (same as in the morning) and there was animal droppings all over the front porch that had not even been cleaned up. We had a group with us, and this was their first stay in the Country and I was deeply embarrassed that I brought them to this property. The hot water did not work either in the sink or the shower. We had to go ask for air conditioning remotes, and the air conditioner was spotty at best. But my biggest concern with children was the safety aspect & the high & significant level of disrepair. The reception staff was not proactive in being helpful or supportive. We had to ask for help.

One of my favorite hostels in Ecuador! I was originally going to stay for 2 days but kept extending because I loved it so much. I had a private room and it was clean and comfy, the view of the ocean was beautiful, and the shower got really hot! Great location, I was the only guest there and enjoyed the calm and tranquility. Great value To catch the coastal bus to ayampe, olon, and surrounding areas you just wait on the side of the road and the bus will take you there.

Reception was closed and because of that I couldn’t get filtered water and had to buy it every day. There is a kitchen but I don’t think it’s for guest use. There were some black ants in the room but I think this is normal due to the location of the hostel and it being an ecolodge.

i had a fantastic stay at azuluna, i highly recommend it. my room was incredible and the huge common area for food and lounging were excellent. great local food, and really friendly and helpful staff. 10/10 would recommend, i had such a relaxing stay here

you are slightly farther away from some stuff but everything is within walking distance.

House wine was rubbish yet very expensive. Breakfast expensive, half the cost is a room, and not included.

Quite little getaway spot a little walk away from the beach and the main drag, Azuluna Ecolodge offers a perfect hideout for a day or two, or five like for me. I think I was the only guest in the house, and had the whole dorm to my self. Kitchen was still open and the staff provided me with excellent foods with reasonable prices.
