Donjuan By Melida Hotel

When I first considered this hotel, it said in some material it had "shared bathrooms." It took me two weeks to decide to go here. When I got there I found out they do not have "shared bathrooms" and in fact these rooms are just any other hotel room. I enjoyed the place because it is just a city block away from the night activity but you don't have the noise of the night activity. The people running the hotel are extremely helpful and pleasant and they can help you get around. They also will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A couple of great eating places just within a block. This is an easy short walk to everything you want. I have stayed in "same" quality hotels before and paid a lot more for my room, and I go down for "Dental Vacations" so this made for a good stop for me. I was here for three weeks, and it was very reasonable.

We had booked 2 nights and ended up staying 4. Really great location, we walked everywhere! 2 blocks back from the main street. The guy at the front desk (I think the manager) was very friendly and helpful and spoke English which was great. We were given a bigger room then we had booked and it was right at the front on the street and quite noisy, could hear traffic and people but we didn't mind. Amazing tacos on the next block for under $2 each and massive, the place is called Gordo Leles and it's delicious! Bathrooms were a little run down but for one of the cheapest hotels in Cabo it is to be expected. Would recommend this place and would definitely stay again :)

I was in Cabo on my way to some great beach adventures in La Paz and Magdalena Bay, so I was looking for clean and inexpensive, and got it! There was a bit of a musty smell, and one of the bedrooms with a King sized bed didn't have a window (didn't even look at it, but in hind site, it might have been the quieter choice!). The staff was fantastic, and as a female traveling alone, I felt quite comfortable, including walking to the marina and nearby restaurants alone after dark. If you are interested in the party scene, this hotel is only about 4 blocks from the party clubs (Hard Rock, Cabo Wabo). But, this hotel is also only about 4 blocks from the party noise, which can be heard, along with road traffic. Not sure there is anywhere in Cabo you won't hear that kind of noise though!. If I return to Cabo on a tight budget, I will look forward to returning.

Service was excellent as was location. Felt that we and are belongings were safe. Somebody is always aroung to keep an eye on things. saying that it seems a good area anyway. Rooms could do with modernising and could be a bit cleaner. But at the price they charge you shouldn't expect the Ritz. Didn't have any problems with hot water or shower. So would stay again if on similar budget. Food in restaurant across the road was good and well price and staff there were good too.

The owners and staff were so friendly. The location is so close to everything....shopping, restaurants, the beach, etc. the price was more then reasonable. I would stay there again, no question.

The staff is amazing, brother and sister run the place and they are awesome!!!! The hotel is nothing fancy, pillows and bed are so so (pillows thin, sheets minimal). They had free wifi which worked good and they even let me play the play station, which was awesome! Even with the beds not super comfortable, I would still come back because they people were so great!!!! Oh and house keeping did a very good job everyday cleaning the room and making it as nice as possible. Very sweet housekeeping person, she gave my son candy and stuff, very sweet!

Overall the room I was assigned was grungy and dirty. Mold on the shower walls and bathroom ceiling above the shower stall. Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of most of Cabo San Lucas hotspots. Hotel is cheap too.. I guess I got what I paid for.

Great Staff and a Good price. I,d stay there again.

Great family run motel with in easy walking distance to everything.

We were planning to stay a few days out of a 2month trip to csl. We are now well into our 3rd week and may stay longer. The staff at melida is amazing. They welcomed us with open arms and immediatly we felt like a part of the family. I have stayed in 5 star resorts that cant come close to matching the level of customer service and satifaction the staff at Melida seemlessly provides. There's a saying in cabo; "No Bad Days". The staff at Hotel Melida prove this motto day in and day out. We stayed at Melida for one night a few years ago and it was a fantastic suprise to see the renovations and upgrades the new managment has completed. Rooms are well maintained, the ac is as cold as an artic wind. Flat screen tvs with 70 plus channels, free screamingly fast wifi, daily maid service and a fridge for cold storage. Even a ps3 is availble to play in the lobby/shared living space. Continental breakfast is availible. Laundry service is fast and cheap (2-3 dollars per kg) Safety is never a concern, the 24-7 concierge is always visiable. We feel: protected, comfortable and relaxed staying at melida. The location is superb. 3 minute walk to the main drag. 2min from cabo wabo, an easy 5min walk to the marina and less than 15,in walk to medano beach. Of course no hotel on earth is perfect, but in my opionion, the genuine, friendly and caring staff set melida far above any non resort hotel i have stayed in. The $ to value ratio will keep us returning for years.
