Hotel Engelberg das Trail Hotel

Located in the upper part of Engelberg, about 10 minutes walk from the train station. This is run by a friendly family. The rooms are comfortable and have nice views of the mountains. The bathrooms are small but well equipped - not for bigger people! The staff are very helpful with advice on activities in and around Engelberg. The breakfast is good but not elaborate. Good value for the price.

I was very happy to stay at Hotel Engelberg.

The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and important to them. The room was typical of most European hotels (a little small) but perfect for my needs. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and I recommend this hotel for its location, customer service, and genuine care for their guests.

Pricey, but that's more the location than anything. The view was very nice and the location is very convenient. My only real complaint with the hotel was that our room faced the street, which is the busiest pedestrian zone in town. It was so loud with people doing what people do that I had to keep the window closed, which made the room unbearably hot. Next time, I’ll bring ear plugs and will sleep like a log.

This family owned and operated hotel could not have been more perfect. From the first greeting, room cleanliness, fresh European breakfast and location I felt like this was the real deal. Switzerland at its best. I lucked into this choice but will not stay anywhere else in Engelberg.
