Country Inn Sonora

Convenient location to Dodge Ridge and downtown Sonora.

The room was slightly dirty, there was a leftover soap bar from the previous guest left in the shower and the water was rusty at first (photo attached). It went away with the flow. I could accept those two items but after leaving, the hotel charged me a $300 smoking fee. They eventually refunded me but it was a hassle. I don’t smoke nor ever have so it was bizarre. I stay in hotels often during the snowboarding season and never have had that experience.

Staff was responsive and friendly. Room, a queen suite , was clean and spacious. Landscaping looked nice with flowers. Room was very big with 2 refrigerators, a small kitchen, a couch and table. Like a little apartment. Two showers: one was a walk in, the other was part of the tub enclosure. Heater was easy to use. Lobby was inviting with a coffee table and decor was pretty.

Outside porch to the suite needed to be swept. Faucet in bathroom was loose and wobbly. Closet door needed repair; it was a sliding door off its track. No coffee, cream, or sugar in the room next to the coffee maker. Blankets were paper thin, and no extra ones in the room. Office did bring more when asked. The faucet on the tub was rather hard to turn, especially for an older person.
