Golden Sea Hotel

We stayed only one night on way to hanoi, was very clean an fresh, room was big beds were great but room was a little damp but no worries, breakfast was good and a short walk over bridge to centre, beach is even closer. If i go back i wiuld stay again..

Golden sea is fabulous value for money. The staff are friendly, the rooms are big and clean, the shower is hot and every time you sit in the lobby area someone brings you a cup of tea. For $20 a room I feel this is great value. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to really cheap markets and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from within a 5-15 minute radius. There is also cheap massage and nail parlours close by. A couple of the staff members had broken English but there was always someone close by who could interpret better, and this was not an issue at all. I would not hesitate to recommend this place, and for $20 it's such a bargain. They didn't offer much support in regards to tours but Anna's tours is literally just across the road and they were so helpful and cheap!

The entrance of the hotel looks good. However, the bad experience started in the room, the floor and the bedsheet were not clean and led to skin itchiness the whole night. A night stay was enough for this. Hotel served breakfast with limited choices, do not put hope for a western breakfast, they do not serve western breakfast. No salad, no cereal, no bake beans. Waitresses do not understand simple English and simple manners such as smile and morning greet.

We stayed in Na Trang for one night in transit and mainly to visit Po Nagar. This modest hotel was unbelievable value for an hotel in the vietnamese equivalent of a sea side town. I think we paid £15.00 for a twin room with en suite. It was clean, good beds and about four minutes from beautiful beach. OK so it is not an award winner but if there was a category for Unpretentious Value for Money this hotel would win. This family owned and run hotel does what it says on tin. If you are on a budget this hotel provides good option. We asked for a very late check out because of train connection to Saigon and this was no problem. This allowed us to send the day on the beach, after visiting Po Nagar which is really worth a trip. We stupidly get burnt while having foot massages but were able to buy fresh aloe Vera. They obviously see us coming and buy in extra. Gives one a "glow" to know our stupidity helps boost local economy !

Room and hotel dirty, stained curtains and amp shades. Musty smell in room , surfaces of tables sticky. Arrived and instantly checked out within 1 hour. Surrounding area looked like a building site.
