Decent stay. Kids were disappointed with the pool being closed. Breakfast was solid!

Pool was closed. We weren't aware of this when booking.

The breakfast was really good, with a full hot breakfast along with other continental breakfast options, and the beds were comfortable.

We chose this hotel specifically because the images showed it had a nice pool, but when we arrived and had almost finished checking in, the hostess briefly mentioned that the pool was unavailable (under renovations for 4 months), which surprised us because at no point during the booking process or the 2 months leading up to our stay did we receive notice that the pool was under renovation. It was 38 degrees C (100 F) outside and we'd been counting on a swim in the pool after our long drive. We asked for a discount on our stay because we'd paid more for this hotel because it had a pool and their misleading advertising prevented us from cancelling and booking somewhere else, but we were told by the manager that there was nothing he could do. We suggested a discount on a future stay at an HI hotel and were told they couldn't even do that to make our experience a little better. On top of that, our room wasn't fully cleaned (there was no toilet paper stocked in the bathroom and the bathtub drain was clogged). We've had good experiences at Holiday Inn Express in Canada before (we are even Gold members of their points program), so we were very disappointed with this experience.

Holiday Inn Express hotels are almost always dependable. Sidney's is no different! I enjoyed my stay because of the clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful breakfast and friendly staff. The location is probably one of the best in Sidney because it's downtown. There are a few bars and grills within a two block walk. I highly recommend eating at the South 40 though and I have been there a few times.

Beds were firm to hard and not very comfortable. Air conditioning worked but fan on unit did not push enough air to cool the room. Entire hotel property witg estimsted 80+ rooms and they only had 1 roll away bed and it was in use.

Liked the location and breakfast

Pool was shut, didn’t find out until we checked in. No extra sheets, when I called housekeeping they didn’t answer, front desk also didn’t answer.

Very clean.
